POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just celebrated 5 Years of SWAN last week and I’m still reeling from the week.

(Slightly sappy, sorry) I am so so so grateful for everyone who came to the festival this year and supported us. To celebrate 5 years, our festival ran for an entire week with different screenings, multiple feature films and panels.

Our first year running panels and multiple feature films - big big thank you to all the wonderful panellists who agreed to come on and share their knowledge and experiences with me. I love community!

This only happens through the blood (literal), sweat, tears and labour of the team - running the festival is truly a team sport 💖 (also our beautiful and wonderful interns) and every year, it’s worth it because I get to talk and uplift women filmmakers and it’s so damn fulfilling. ❣️

See you next year 🫡

Smashed together three artistic practises and personal boundaries to make a show about dying on a hill. Micro-renovated (renopetito’d) an old Freo shisha bar to have the right rehearsal space to make it in. Managed to fit in awesome live sound and spooky tech builds. Almost got into modular synthesis to make it work but chose peace instead. Haven’t had to learn lines since high school. Still learning how to lean on other people. Love my collaborators and partner and friend. Ended up with 60 minutes of experimental dance-theatre and it opens next week. Come spend some time with us and others. Bound to be special, or at least, ‘Well that was interesting…” Tickets in da bio! 🔗🎫

What a weekend!

We are still lost for words at the huge effort every single crew and cast member put into the Perth Film Studios Open Days this weekend.

To open the doors and let the public see what happens behind the scenes was pretty special. To showcase the incredible depth of talent, skills and creativity that exists within our WA screen industry was even better.

There’s so much more to film and television than what you see on screen and this weekend gave people a chance to experience that first-hand.

We’re incredibly proud to be part of this industry and even prouder of the people who make it happen.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who got stuck in, shared their knowledge and helped make the weekend such a great celebration of WA screen.

What a crew. ❤️
