„Pluto Is Raging” (27 min, 2025), directed by Margaret Haines (@greta__mar), is screening for the first time at Human Resources (@humanresourcesla) in Chinatown, Los Angeles on Friday, September 26.

All are welcome. 🔗 in bio. https://withfriends.events/event/bbigvEH0/la-jumelle-de-jesus-on-air-purity-corruption-pollution-pluto-is-raging

The narrative documentary follows the legacy of the „Gregarious Aquarius” Carroll Righter’s foundation and its community of students and teachers—photographer Cynthia MacAdams, Ilana Kozlov, Tashi Condelee, Dan K. and Cisco Huijbregts among them.

The film explores the colorful history of Righter, who in the 1960s created astrological record albums with Oscar de la Renta designs and hosted elaborate themed parties—including bringing live lions for Leo celebrations.

Known for advising celebrities like Marlene Dietrich and the Reagans, his classes continue today in the same location where they began in 1964, preserving this unique piece of astrological tradition through to his death in 1988 and beyond.

We’re delighted to be in residence at the Warburg Institute all this week!

As part of Art & The Book, we’ve set up shop in the gallery’s library of exile space - and it’s the last week to catch the exhibition. Come and say hey and shop our collection, which features very special editions from Jala Wahid, Benedict drew, Himali Singh Soin, Alberta Whittle, Oliver Frank Chanarin, M lissoni, and Holly Graham; and books from STIGMATA, Montez Press, Skin Seep, AQNB, Monitor Books, Pilot Press, & worms to name just a few. You can also grab a free bookmark ;)

We’re here 10-6 Tuesday through Friday and 10-5 this Saturday 🕺🏻

Art & The Book explores artists making, publishing, and collecting books. In a season encompassing an exhibition, public conversations, a book fair, and bookshops in residence, Art & The Book draws attention to the recent history of the book as an art object and field of bibliographic experimentation.

Throughout the Art & The Book season, a rotating series of independent bookshops will take up residence in the gallery’s library of exile space. Each week brings a different bookshop from across the UK, offering a curated selection of artists’ books and books on art - many of which are rare or hard to find. These bookshops span a wide range of approaches: some are also publishers, community projects or arts organisations, each bringing their own unique perspective to the space.

Art & The Book is curated by Arnaud Desjardin (@theeverydaypressbunkerbasement) and Hlib Velyhorskyi (@biblioteka_kyiv)

Such an incredible honor to be featured by Canvas Rebel Magazine alongside so many bold, visionary artists and entrepreneurs.
Being part of a community that celebrates creativity, resilience, and the power of uplifting one another reminds me that when we share our passions, we help build a world filled with more connection, color, and possibility.
I’m thankful for this journey — and even more thankful for the inspiring souls I meet along the way. And a HUGE Thank You to Everyone who has supported me! And a huge HUG and much respect to the person who recognized me and nominated me to Canvas Rebel, much love to who ever you are xoxox!

GATEKEEPING WITHOUT A GATE 🗝️

How to run an independent online publication without being too much of a «gatekeeper»?

Read a personal essay by the editor and co-founder of AQNB about its struggle to archive a depicted scene by entering a cycle of mutual influence rather than (mis-)using curatorial power to make top-down statements.

Ultra Instinct is a collaboration between Steph Kretowicz (@uncle_stephanie) and @ben_babbitt_ making busted tragic loser pop which draws on spoken word text, collaged field recordings, and live-mangled CDJ edits of original tracks to explore the time-tested ritual of combining words and song.

For their debut show in London, the Los Angeles-based duo also present performances from Babbitt’s solo project Enhancement, as well as Japan-born improviser and multidisciplinary artist Kenichi Iwasa, and life is beautiful label founder and artist aloisius.

There’ll also be DJ sets from CS+Kreme’s Conrad Standish (Melbourne) and Coby Sey (London), along with a short film program featuring Cristine Brache, Geistė Marija Kinčinaitytė, Andra Nadirshah, and Yelena Zhelezov.
