The restoration of our Stonewall project began with what was already there. Its authentic mid-century character became the foundation for a more unified material language and a stronger sense of flow, refining and elevating the experience from room to room, creating new moments within the existing architecture, and bringing greater connection between each level of the house.

A good time was had. And the design community glittered. ✨

Métallique Chic was the VIBE at this year’s San Francisco Fall Show, and it was so incredibly fun to dress for! Bravo @suzanne_tucker and the #sffallshow for bringing our community together in such energy and style.

It was incredibly special for @aapi_designalliance community to partner with @irg_stoneboutique to celebrate Diwali as part of this year’s show. Loved seeing friends embrace the celebration, the culture and, of course, the fashion.

A few favorite moments, details and vignettes that caught my eye, from beautiful antiques and intricate craftsmanship to very good company. I’m sure I missed plenty between admiring the details and catching up with friends. Consider this my personal edit.

This weekend, we had the joy of hosting a Diwali cocktail party with @aapi_designalliance at the San Francisco Fall Show, bringing together a wonderful gathering of the design community to celebrate the Festival of Lights. 🪔

Diwali is a celebration of light, togetherness, and new beginnings, and we couldn't think of a more meaningful way to honor it than by bringing people together.

✨️ Our hope in creating moments like these is to foster a sense of belonging, build meaningful connections, and create space for everyone to feel part of something special.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us and made the evening so memorable. And a special thank you to @aliciacheungdesign

From our IRG Stone family to yours, Happy Diwali! 💛

Gold Collective member Andrew Mann Architecture's Sonoma County retreat is @luxemagazine’smagazine's cover story—a cornerstone representation of the color, pattern, and personality Luxe celebrates throughout the issue.

The reimagined midcentury home serves as both a family gathering place and agrarian escape, shaped by light, land, and a deep connection to the surrounding landscape. The project was a true collaboration between @andrewmannarchitecture and @aquilointeriors, whose layered interiors, rich with color, art, and handcrafted materials, meet the architecture in harmony to create a single, unified vision that became deeply personal to the entire team along the way.

The result is a home that knows exactly what it wants to be: a place to gather, grow, and return to. Visit our link in bio to read more.

When the owners of a Sonoma County retreat decided to make it a full-time residence, designer Carmen René Smithand architect Andrew Mann stepped in to help make the move permanent.

Smith even executed a series of moves that strike emotional notes, including installing overhead lights in the game room arranged in the constellations of each family member’s astrological sign. “My philosophy is about creating spaces that feel deeply personal, restorative and alive with meaning,” Smith explains.

“The powder room is my baby. That is where I could go wild. I call it the fifth dimension, because it’s just fantasy and sci-fi. It originally was something a lot more crazy, but it got refined to the black mirror, the ripple metal on the ceiling that looks like water, and the [cylindrical Stone Forest] onyx sink that glows from within.” - Carmen René Smith, @aquilointeriors

“Historically, kitchens have been separated from living rooms and dining rooms—that was definitely the case here,” explains Federico Engel, of this Berkeley Hills project, featured in @archdigest.

“The big gesture was to open the kitchen to the great room. And that’s very much how Andrew lives. He loves to entertain and cook for people.”

New work on @archdigest

I’m so happy to finally share this beautiful project by @aquilointeriors and @butlerarmsden_architects, which we shot back in early September 2025. A beautifully reimagined midcentury home in the Berkeley Hills, where architectural heritage meets bold, playful details and a wonderfully personal approach to modern living.

It was a difficult time, as we’d lost our sweet dog Hugo to a school bus the day before the shoot, just a few hours before the location scout. I was feeling pretty raw, but we had a wonderful and funny team who managed to take my mind off things, until I flew home at least.

I’m really happy with how the shoot turned out and it’s great to see it on AD. @morganhannahg wrote a lovely story.

Thrilled to see our Berkeley Hills Treehouse project featured in @archdigest!

This project was an exercise in the preservation of architectural identity—retaining, celebrating, and elevating this home’s mid-century design DNA was key in our restoration. To do it, we focused on creating a more cohesive material and experiential continuity throughout the house, introducing new spatial moments, and strengthening the connections between floors.

“Built by regionalist architect Robert Ratcliff, the treehouse-like abode is defined by its steeply-pitched gable roof, teak paneling, and subtly angled walls—all of which Butler Armsden Architects and Aquilo Interiors painstakingly restored or replaced in near-identical fashion.”
