7:30pm: Good Time Country Buffet, 166 1st Ave.
If you can get in, you should start your night at Good Time Country Buffet, where, for only $26.99, you can eat all you want of southern classics like meatloaf, collard greens, mac and cheese, and fried chicken.

9:00pm: LBJ: The Play, Paradise Factory, 64 E 4th St.
Then head to Paradise Factory to to catch one of LA Times' favorite shows at the 2024 Netflix is a Joke Festival! It's also presented by Jo Firestone and co-directed by Andrew Barth Feldman, so you KNOW it's going to be hysterical! A 5th grade teacher hires local performer Sunny Zimmerman to give a simple historical presentation as LBJ. The only problem? Sunny’s gone method. They’ve been living and breathing as LBJ, and LBJ has decided that this is his one chance to salvage his legacy – with an ambitious theatrical production. As his vision doesn't go according to plan, the boundaries between actor and role become increasingly blurred. This is one of the shows we're excited for this month!

10:30pm: B Scene, 50 Avenue B
After the show, walk over to Alphabet City to grab drinks at B Scene, a hip new cocktail lounge with live music!

(LBJ: The Play runs through 10/30, and a lot of performances are already sold out, so get your tickets now!)

Lyndon Johnson flew me out to NYC and introduced me to the best team in the world. It is humbling and amazing to work with a team of such sweetheart genius freaks as these. See LBJ while you can (tickets selling FAST). Thank you to everyone who has ever spent their time, money, energy, and laughter supporting this show. Politics is about people and it turns out, so is showbiz. ❤️🤠

Practice liking people until you learn to do so genuinely.

I’m nearly there with this crew.

Preview #1 is tonight. Some standby tickets might be available 30 mins before showtime.

Who knew bein’ a sell out could feel this good? This theater stuff is way easier than herdin’ senators. Secure your seat in the chamber while you still can! And if you’re the type of fella who lives by the skin of your teeth, come 30 minutes before showtime to get on the waitlist.

Ended my night with my first visit to @collapsablehole and my first time seeing a laialeah show in person.

It’s a love letter to downtown theatre.
It’s a love letter to the exquisite harmony between high and low art.
It’s a love letter to maximalism on a budget.
It’s a love letter to wardrobe malfunctions without giving a fuck.
It’s a love letter to seafood.
It’s a love letter the very unique trust one has with their best friend and most important creative partner.

I’m in awe of much my taste in art has evolved in just the past year and I urge everyone to see the weird shit happening in the diy venues near you!!
