When I think of spaces that are truly engaged in envisioning a more compassionate, more considerate, and more curious world, I think of all the queer and trans spaces I have found shelter in—and thrived in.

I think of @qween_jean and @blacktransliberation, and how every time I share space with Qween, she reminds us that liberation means liberation for ALL. Not for some, but for all people.

Pride was a riot started and led by Black and Brown trans people who imagined a world bigger than the one they inherited. That vision sparked by Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera wasn’t simply about being tolerated—it was about freedom, dignity, joy, and the radical belief that no one should be left behind.

In a moment when it’s easy to become cynical, these spaces continue to insist that another world is possible. I have learned that love is not passive, community is not accidental, and liberation is something we strive for together.

Thank you for these moments of queer and trans joy. Fr. For trusting me to document these moments. And for the reminder that love is expansive.
