Thank you for coming together to celebrate Chuseok last week! 🌕✨

We are deeply grateful to the 700+ people who joined us in celebrating Korean heritage, culture, and community. This event was more than a celebration—it reminded us of our community’s strength and beauty when we come together.

From Korean adoptees and Korean immigrants to Korean Americans, longtime community members and new friends, families, elders, youth, and everyone in between, thank you for helping create a space where we can connect, share our stories and traditions, and celebrate the many paths that bring us together.

As we gathered beneath the Chuseok moon 🌕 , we were reminded of the spirit of Ganggangsullae—people joining hands, moving together, and creating something beautiful through connection. May that same spirit continue to bring our community together across generations, experiences, and journeys.

Our community is strengthened by the diversity of our experiences and the connections we share. Together, we are building a more inclusive and connected Korean community—one that honors our roots, embraces every generation and journey, and creates a welcoming place for future generations 🇰🇷❤️

Thank you to everyone who helped make this night so special! This kind of event is not possible without the support of our community volunteers, partners, and sponsors!

✨ Vendor Spotlights ✨

💄 Ara Bee Collective
Rooted in representation and inclusivity, Ara Bee Collective is an AAPI-owned beauty and creative collective led by Laura, a half-Korean American adoptee. Their diverse team creates personalized, on-location hair and makeup for multicultural weddings and special events, celebrating every love story. Based in Minneapolis with a new San Diego expansion, Ara Bee Collective is a five-time recipient of The Knot Best of Weddings award.

🇰🇷 Munee
Munee (a Korean word for ‘pattern’) Studio creates and introduces handcrafted home design products inspired by traditional Korean patterns, infused with a modern touch in an era of mass production. Eun-Kyung's goal is for Munee's customers to gain a deep appreciation for the rich traditions and culture of Korea. After cutting the patterns with modern laser-cutting techniques, she handcrafts wooden products, which are then meticulously assembled using traditional methods such as sanding, varnishing, joining, and installing accessories. Munee's ultimate objective is to create a platform that not only celebrates Korean arts but also promotes diversity within the Minnesota community and beyond.

We do not take a trip; a trip takes us.”
— John Steinbeck

There is a moment before leaving when everything still belongs to the life you know.

The keys on the table.
The familiar turn home.
Tomorrow sitting quietly where you left it.

Then the door closes.

At first, the journey behaves.

Flight numbers.
Reservations.
A place on the map waiting for your arrival.

But somewhere between here and there, something slips loose.

A wrong turn becomes the story.
A stranger says the sentence you carry home.
A place you meant to pass through asks you to stay.

And the person who left begins, almost imperceptibly, to loosen too.

Maybe that is the real distance we travel.

Not miles.

The space between who we were certain we were
and who we have not met yet.

We leave thinking we know what we’re going to find.

Sometimes the surprise is who does the finding.

You can choose the destination.

What finds you there is the why.

"The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook.” — William James

Not everything beautiful
asks to be kept.

Some things are meant
to pass through us.

A room.
A city.
A conversation
that lingers
after the words are gone.

Not less wonder.

A finer ear for it.

The world keeps opening,
whether we answer or not.

And every so often,
something stays
without asking to be held.

There is always more world.

The rare things
are the ones that remain
after you’ve looked away.

One’s destination is never a place, but rather a new way of looking at things.” — Henry Miller

The next thing no longer gets to interrupt this one.

Something ahead.
Something unknown.

But no leaning toward it.
No trying to outrun this moment
to reach the next one.

As if the next turn
can take care of itself.

She isn’t there yet.

And somehow,
she has already arrived.

Just the strange freedom
of having somewhere to go

without needing to leave. ✨
