The screening concept takes the well as a starting point, thinking through its vertical and horizontal associations. Vertically, it considers the well as a space of depth, descent, and looking inward. Horizontally, it follows the concrete surface of a well, on the former Nuss Brunnen Feld, and the flow of water extending toward the port, the sea, and the horizon beyond.

The works in the program engage with these relationships through different distances between the body, nature, objects, and architecture, as well as through different ways of looking and sensing space. The screening will take place within the space of Walnut Well itself, so the site and its architectural surfaces will also become part of the viewing experience.

orbit is an international and interdisciplinary platform for exhibition and publication, extending across conversations, interviews, research, and other forms of exchange, founded and directed by Rio Usui.
From autumn 2026, orbit will be hosted by Walnut Well, where it will develop and present a series of activations and cultural events.

"The waves tell me nothing, they hide their currents under the surface. The waves tell me everything, there is so much happening i'm drowning. No wonder the halocline is deemed a non-swim zone".

In the region of Grenen two different water bodies of the Baltic Sea (where the artist is from, a former colony) and the Northern sea (where the exhibition takes place, a former colonizer) meet through the Kattegat Strait. The different salinities of the water bodies (one salty, the other brackish), create a unique environment of clashing waves and currents. In the midst of polycrises, where water and border politics come forth, the idea
of control and seamless transactions in the background, show their false rigidness more strongly. The new series of textile sculptures, images and sound, created specifically
for Bladr, wish to open those restless waters as maps for transcending imaginaries and cross-historic connections.

Learning from the Best is Gewächshaus’ monthly get-together for filmmakers. It offers a space for open discussion, peer-to-peer exchange, and mutual support in developing creative work. We regularly invite inspiring experts to share their experiences, insights, and creative journeys.

The program is designed to equip filmmakers with the knowledge and connections they need to navigate the industry, while providing a safer space for filmmakers affected by structural racism to tell their own stories on their own terms.

🌱 The Coworking Circle is a project of Gewächshaus – BIPOC Film Network in cooperation with Brunnenpassage within the framework of the Cultural Transformation Movement (CTM).
