I feel like I’ve always had this mindset. To live for other people. To carry people with me. To know that I bring value to their lives. Though it may be my fatal flaw, I also see it as my greatest strength.

I’ve always treasured my relationships wherever I go. When I had depression, it was agonizing to know that I was a burden. That I was letting down all the people I cared about and all who cared about me.

At the same time, it fills me with so much purpose. To know that every title I hold, every identity, every relationship, all of it has a story which I cherish close to my heart. I bring them everywhere I go.

So even if it’s been a long time; even if we don’t know each other very well; even if we really just met a day ago, just know that you’ve made an impact in my life.

Whether you’re a college student, teacher, mom, artist, business owner, coach, fashionista, musician, athlete, whatever.

Whether you're my friend, family, ancestor, colleague, mentor, bunso, mentee, or future companion.

I genuinely cannot express how much I care (and how much sleep I sacrifice) for you.

And just know: I will pay it forward. The stories you’ve shared with me have their place in mine, and will impact so many other people as well.

With that, the YE#31 season comes to an end. When I said yes to being a Head Facilitator back in April, I had so many doubts, but I chose to trust in the Lord and let Him lead me in service to this community. The journey was not an easy one, but through God's grace, this weekend was made a success!
🩵 To the candidates - thank you for accepting the call to deepen your devotion to God at this retreat. It was incredible to witness your growth throughout the entire weekend. The openness, vulnerability, comradery, and willingness to engage yourselves in this community was something truly inspiring. I know God has great plans for you, and I hope to continue seeing you all at future BLD events!
🧡 To the Auxies - this weekend couldn't have been possible without everyone fulfilling their roles. I thank you all for your willingness to serve.
🩷 To my Understudies - Angela, Angel, Mathieu, and Darius - I couldn't be more proud of you guys! You've all come so far since Facilitator's Training back in May. I was amazed watching you develop the talks into your own and using them to connect with the candidates on a more personal level.
💜 To my Facilitators - Anne, Arnold, and Andres - thank you for always being there to support Mico and I. Thank you Arnold for the former head fed insight. Thank you Andres and Anne for sharing your stories, allowing the candidates to open their hearts to each other and to God. I know I can always count on you guys to not only get the job done, but to do it well.
💙 To my fellow Head Facilitator - Mico - I couldn't have asked for a better partner to share this experience with. For each of my flaws, you were always there to fill the gaps. You've seen me in the ups and downs during the weekend and the months leading up to it, and you’ve supported me through every step of the way. I don't know what I would've done without you!
🤍 Lastly, thank you Lord for allowing me this opportunity to serve you. Thank you for this BLD community, which is one I can call home.

I'm beyond grateful for everyone and everything... the harvest from YE #31 truly was plenty. From the laughs, to the cries, to the high praise and moments of silence, we all became one family in the span of just three days. To all who helped out, thank you for making this retreat possible. SPECIAL shoutout to the sponsoring class YE #30 for being the best class I could've ever shepherded and for contributing all that you can towards the success of the retreat, whether physically or through your prayers. Seeing you guys grow in this BLD community has truly been such a blessing for me and I hope we can all reunite soon.

Congrats to the graduated YE #31 class, you all are amazing! Never forget how important it is to stay deeply devoted in your faith :D

It has been such a joy to witness the Lord working in the midst of this community, especially last weekend at the YE #31 retreat. I'm so thankful to have been given the chance to serve again, and to have met all the wonderful candidates (you guys are genuinely all so cool, and we hope you keep coming back :). To the study team, praise team, and auxie team, it's been so fun working with you; the long days and late nights were worth it. I'm so grateful for the people, the prayers, and the constant reminder of just how lucky I am to be waking up every morning on a firm foundation. It might have been a rocky (stormy) road, but I wouldn't trade this for anything 💕

And with that, YE#31 is now complete. 💙

When serving for this retreat, I remember last year from when I took it. This new coming class made the experience all the better. I'm thankful to each and every one of the candidates who took part. Another thank you to all of the auxies for making this weekend possible. It has been such a roller coaster of emotions: laughing around, the skits and harana (shoutout sponsoring class and class sheps of YE#30), staying up for who knows how long, crying together, and uplifting our bond with our Father as a whole. Everyone has been amazing and despite me not being a candidate, I fell inlove with my faith all over again. ✝️

I hope to see you all in the future from side quests, Friday worships, upcoming reunions, to our next retreat YLSS#30. I look forward to being a class shepherd for such a lively and loving class. Enjoy the rest of your summer diving deep, making waves. 🌊

youth encounter #31💙

the past weekend was such a surreal experience. looking back at all these pictures with my fellow candidates, we all started out as strangers who were scared to be vulnerable with each other and with God but as we ended the weekend, we grew our faith together and become a family. thank you to every single person who made this encounter possible and i'm so glad i was convinced (special shoutout to aiden for introducing me thank you baby🤍) to take it and i had the best 3 days ever getting closer to the Lord. i have never felt so blessed, devoted, and loved so i truly thank this weekend for that. thank you to the BLD community for welcoming me with open arms and i can't wait to see what's in store for the upcoming events🕊️❤️‍🩹

It's time for everyone to GET HYPED because the YOUTH ENCOUNTER #31 RETREAT IS IN 14 DAYS!!! To countdown the days until the weekend, we are introducing #PeopleOfYE!! To begin, we have Angela Argonza!! Angela is one of the sweetest and funniest people you'll meet. She has this upbeat personality that welcomes anyone around her. You can easily crack a joke together or depend on her if you need a helping hand. From being musically inclined with her voice, trumpet, and the drums, to being an academic weapon, the amount of talent she possesses will bring you to awe! I also heard she loves Oshawott to the Pokémon lovers out there... Don't be afraid to say hi to her over the weekend!

Here's what she has to say: "Hii guys!!! My name is Angela Argonza and I am from YE #29!! I've been a part of BLD since I was little, but found myself to be truly active in this welcoming community after taking the Youth Encounter. I'm forever grateful to have taken the retreat, being able to meet so many friends who have become very special to me. More importantly, I was able to rediscover my faith with God along the whole journey and grow with people who have helped me along the way. This experience has taught me so much, from being a part of praise to stepping up as one of the youth leaders, and it's showed me that I'm not alone. Since then, I always loved coming back to BLD events, praising the Lord, meeting new people, and learning more about God and about myself. I can't wait to make another unforgettable memory and am looking forward to seeing everyone at YE #31!"
