Snack duty: CHECK! ✅🏈

It’s our turn to bring snacks for flag football, and why does packing snacks for a whole team feel like such a big responsibility?!

Keeping it simple with some of our favorite snacks to fuel these little athletes! @goldfishsmiles @zbarofficial @archerjerky @cutiescitrusofficial @annieshomegrown

Soccer season is in full swing over here ⚽️ and it was our turn to bring the after-game snacks.

Even though I told the kids HANDS OFF because these snacks were for the games somehow those little hands still made their way into the snack boxes. 😭😂

So some kids ended up with the same snacks and for the rest I had to improvise with whatever I had left. 🫠😂 The things we do as soccer moms lol.

Meat sticks are always in my bag 🥩 High protein, low volume, and they keep me full without feeling stuffed. Perfect on the go. What snack should I add to the treasure chest? 👇

And if you ask me … homeschool should be rebranded to never at home learning because what in the actual heck 😂!!!! Between museum visits, park dates, dental appointments, and baseball practice, we are seldom in the house. I guess that’s the beautiful part about homeschool… learning happens everywhere.

My favorite learning space is the library. I’ll share about our library days as a working homeschooling mama soon. For now, save this post for snack ideas when you’re on the go with hangry kids !

Happy whatever day it is. ❤️ #homeschoolmama #homeschoollife #momlife #wfhmom #onthegosnacks @brumate

I never thought I’d be struggling this much with my health at 43.

Here’s what makes it so hard: I can’t just blame one thing. Mold. Perimenopause. Burnout. Everything I’m experiencing fits under every one of them. So how do you treat your body when you can’t tell what you’re treating?

For six years, I’ve pushed through. You wouldn’t know by looking at me, but I’ve lived with symptoms of chronic illness that can be almost debilitating. When mold exposure triggers it, the cost of treating it goes beyond what I can afford. When perimenopause hit, I started HRT, hoping I’d finally feel like myself again. A year later, nothing had changed. And I knew something else was wrong.

I’ve said that same sentence to doctors for six years.

Now I’m in complete survival mode. Burnt out from my career, from the responsibilities of life, and from six years of pushing through. It caught up to me.

That’s why I’m here at the Amen Clinic in Reston, Virginia, looking for answers about my mental health, my emotional health, and my physical health.

This is the messy middle. The part where you don’t have the answers yet, you can’t see the finish line, and you’re still choosing to move. I’ve talked about building a life to survive instead of live. Part of choosing differently is finally listening to my body instead of outrunning it.

So I’m taking you with me. No polished ending, no tidy answers yet. Just the real journey, out loud.

If you’ve been pushing through something for years and telling yourself you’ll deal with it later, this is for you. Follow along.

👀Also who else brings their protein with them on trips, anyone? 👀

Day 149 of daily posts to see if social media can change my life.

I’m Brionna a therapist getting out of survival mode and I am bringing you along the messy middle of this journey: where I am learning to be a wife, stepmom, get out of debt, and leave my career at 43 years old.

Stick around if you’re nosey like me, or simply because you’re on a similar journey!
