Chapter 7: Easter Dinner.

T'was the night before Easter, and I received an unexpected text from a good friend: "What are you doing for Easter Sunday?" Of course I was honest. "Church, and probably chilling at home, eating the special oxtail my fam sent for me." What I didn't expect was that it would lead to simply one of the most laid-back group Easter Dinners I've ever attended. Amazing music, great fellowship, a beautiful space... and I can now check off Louisiana delicacy Étouffée from my bucket-list, as well as legit Peach Cobbler. 🔥🍑 Thank you to the gracious hosts for their invitation, and for getting me OUTSIDE. This pic BTW? The view.

Lyft Driver? 10/10. An elementary/junior high school teacher with HBCU & military roots that was so intrigued at how a Canadian would decide to come down here to Texas for school. Not only were they the FIRST person to know where Manitoba was, but they actually visited my hometown Winnipeg a few times, coming across the border from their military base in ND to visit their "tenderoni" lol who lived in the city at the time. Sending good vibes. 🙌🏽

Chapter 4: POST Houston & 713 Music Hall

From an architectural & city planning standpoint, turning the main post office branch of a large metropolitan area into eateries, a concert hall, and cultural space sounds like the perfect project: Large, cavernous spaces with high ceilings (possibly with naturally good acoustics), a trendy, industrial vibe with exposed piping, and lots of existing adjacent parking. When you add beautiful views of the skyline, the opportunity for an LEED-certified roof walkway covered in greenery, AND a quick exit to the freeway, you have a WINNER. Thank you to CJ & VC for the recommendation!

Recommendation: Lea Jane's Hot Chicken. 🐔

MGM Citycenter is probably one of the biggest gambles I have ever seen. (even for Vegas) This Multi-billion project opened during the economic downturn, at a time when there were more empty rooms in Vegas than were sustainable. Obviously this gamble has paid off, as this is the still the largest concentration of luxury stores, restaurants, hotels, and condominiums in Vegas.👏📊📈💰💳💸📚🍴🌇🏢🌆🌃🌵

It looks like little PegCity is growing up yet again. 🌆🌃🌇The old Waterfront pumphouse beside The Forks (at the top) 👀😨😫has been purchased by a consortium of local businessmen, who hope to turn it into the beauty of a building at the right.😍😎🙌👏Can't Wait!🏗
