I hope one day I’ll make it to the Comme des Garçons show. But until then, the crowd outside is my show, and what an incredible one! I’ve never been surrounded by so many wonderfully weird, wildly imaginative, otherworldly creatures. It honestly felt like stepping into some beautifully bizarre fairy tale 🍄

I’m still coming off a high of being in Paris last week attending the CDG shows for the first time. This was also the first time my husband and I traveled together without our kids. We moved mountains but had a solid support system back home to be able to pull this off, and I gotta say, it was totally worth it. The shows themselves were fantastic, but the best part was being around other likeminded outsiders. The Comme community is unlike any other. Next up: Part 3, my favorite, visiting the CDG showrooms. Paris shopping recap and the outfits I wore along the way. I’ll work on writing a detailed breakdown and my recommendations in a Substack essay soon. This #taocommedesgarcons set was a fan favorite amongst the Parisians and so fun to wear. First stop on the ground floor of DSM was this leather #melittabaumeister leather jacket. Decided I needed a special accessory for attending the CDG shows. Didn’t end up getting this @stephenjonesmillinery headband but it was so adorable. @rosebakeryparis is always a must cuz shopping works up an appetite. @thearchiviststore with the best curation of vintage designers and @boulangeriemamiche across the street doesn’t hurt. Visiting @commedesgarconsparis for the first time and of course ran into friends. Absolutely loved this @noirkeininomiya tulle set but sadly wasn’t in my size. Swung by the @commissionofficial event and got to see this dress in person. Stumbling into @45r_official was the best surprise. Walked away with one of my absolute favorite sets. Being in Paris during fashion week also means potentially coming across smaller, independent designers’ showrooms. Really enjoyed meeting @lihanngeorge.antwerp, seeing her bags and being able to support her work! There were moments where the Parisian shopping experience felt like Japan Loved L’Obscur, a tiny boutique filled with the most amazing curation of avant Garde designers. You could really sense the love they put into their shop. Took @opefaj and I multiple tries with others before we finally located the storefront. The dynamic duo @archivewrj and @opefaj, and my shopping partners in crime on this trip: two people who rival my husband and I in their love and dedication of fashion and shopping. 🖤🖤🖤 Leather jacket try on @centre_commercial. Finally landed on this brown @cawleystudio piece for my mom on duty day to day outfits.

I think it’s like the best version of the sort of disparate style of dressing that’s become more popular recently 👖 Great drape and layers, very wearable outfit and fun down to the socks ⚪️ Cynthea shared that the skirt is from SS06 “Britannia” with the bag, shoes and top being from AW26, all mainline. I really snoozed the pairing of textures and volume in this outfit 🌹 Thanks for reading! I took a break from writing individual captions for these looks to share some of my thoughts for a bit but think I’ll start doing it again :)
