Happy Belated International Book 📖 Lovers Day 2026, and Happy World Lion 🦁 Day 2026!

Between the Lions 🦁 always blends the 2. It was one of the main things that inspired my love 😍 for books. 📚 As well as my love for puppets, storytelling, art, 🖼️ science, 🧪 and many more. I am wanting to build my own replicas of the characters, but that’s will take a lot of time.

These are one of my old BTL coloring books, and small books that came with Chick-Fil-A Kids Meals, back in the early and mid 2000s.
I am lucky 🍀 to have these in my collection. As well as some Golden Books they did back in the day.

Once of the reasons why it ended is because PBS Kids had to stop using fast food chains for sponsorship. If the show Ever Gets Rebooted, I hope they will find new sponsors. Even Netflix can be a perfect home for it.

It’s important to me to have Between the Lions, 🦁 along with other childhood favorites around for the future generations of kids. Between the Lions 🦁 is at Number One. ☝️ Because there are still kids who are struggling with learning to read and write, ✍️ and having it around can really help them with it. But a Reboot is Even Better!

I did make a difference, and Now’s the Time for You to Make One Too! Send your support and feedback through email 📧 or through comments and messages on social media. To PBS, @pbs PBS Kids, @pbskids WGBH, @wgbh and MPB @mpbonline @mpb_learning to Have Between the Lions 🦁 Revived for Hopefully Later in this Decade, or the Next One. To Help a Child Get Wild About Reading 📖 Again!

The 2013 PofA National Puppetry Festival, at Swarthmore College. I don’t remember this one quite as fondly as the 2015 festival at UConn, but it’s still significant to me as the first gathering of puppeteers I’d ever been to, as a young guy aspiring to get into the craft but only really had the Muppets as a reference point.
(Also, as you can see in my previous post, Tyler and Pam graciously recreated the two photos at this year’s O’Neill Conference!)

So lovely to welcome my dear friend Pam Arciero (@arcieropam) to London! And in the middle of the hottest summer since 1976! Pam is a legendary puppeteer who joined Sesame Street in 1982. She has also worked on lots of other puppet productions including Muppet and Henson productions, The Great Space Coaster, Allegra’s Window, Between the Lions, Eureeka’s Castle and Lomax the Hound of Music.

@hasbro, @sesamestreet and @mylittlepony, I made a crossover between my favorite shows: Sesame Street (live-action and animated) and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (animated), which is titled: Friendship on Planet Earth. I hope you all love my idea!

Happy 74th Birthday 🎈🎁🎂🎉🎊 to One of the Stars (and the Consulting Producer) of Between the Lions, 🦁 and One of my Mentors! The Sound Effects Wizard, 🧙🏻‍♂️ “Fred Newman!”

I was surprised to discover that he grew up here in Georgia! I also got inspired by him to do sound effects for my projects. I also thought about impersonating him for Baloo the Bear 🐻 in my version of The Jungle Book!

Speaking of books, 📚 along with being on Between the Lions 🦁 and Reading 📖 Rainbow, 🌈 he wrote a book 📖 called, “Mouth 👄 Sounds,” 🔊 which I don’t have but I hope 🤞 to one day.

He’s also well known as the Star of Nickelodeon’s Doug, and his first movie was Gremlins! He also did Who Framed Roger Rabbit! 🐇 🐰

10 Years Ago, On This Day! I saw the New Version of Disney’s The Jungle Book! I was a huge fan of the original, and the 1998 version growing up in North Carolina, so I had to see this!

I first saw it at the Movie 🎥 Tavern in Tucker Georgia! I don’t remember the exact date, but it was in April 2016, when it was released. It was so amazing, 🤩 that I went to see the 3 more times!

I was also very inspired by it! It was one of the inspirations for a puppet show I wanted to do, but I’ll probably get back into it later on this year. Speaking of puppets, looking at behind the scenes footage, they used puppets from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop as reference to create the digital animals. That interacted with Neel Sethi who was Mowgli.

The Jungle Book is my favorite story ever! I even thought about maybe a Between the Lions 🦁 episode about it. It also inspired a fascination of wildlife in India 🇮🇳 where it took place. I also thought about doing another puppet project, as well as art 🖼️ projects about Prehistoric India, 🇮🇳 with its Dinosaurs! 🦕 🦖 Which the movie’s director, Jon Faverau, represented in an episode of the Prehistoric Planet series.

I also have made a Facebook Group called, “The Ancient Jungle Book: Dinosaurs 🦕 🦖 of India.” 🇮🇳 (Check it Out and Feel Free to Join in!) The name of the project I was thinking of doing. Book 📚 📖 form could take longer, but I’ll see if it’s possible as time goes on.

Until Then, “HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY TO THE JUNGLE BOOK 📖 2016! 🇮🇳🧒🏽🐈‍⬛🐺🐺🐺🐯🐅🐘🐃🐍🐻🐒🙊🙈🙉🐵🦧🔥🌳🌴🎶🎼🎵From PALEO-Puppeteer-Productions!” 🦕🦖🐘🦣🦤🪵📦🔪🦾🦿🔩🦴🩻🎎🎭🎬🎥🤳🎞️ 2016-2026

Happy 26th Anniversary to the Show That Raised Me, “Between the Lions!” 🦁

To save time for doing art 🖼️ for its 26th year, I decided to color in an old computer 💻 art piece I did back in 2019. One of many copies that were not sold after my art 🖼️ show. That was a year before I got on social media!

As I colored it in though, I realized that there were some errors in getting it to match the real puppets in the outline, but Hey, it was my first attempt. So I was able to fix them using white ink, and a Japanese pen. 🖊️ So the process took longer than I expected.

I also used many layers of brush marker to match the colors, and shading of the images of the puppets. I used the white gel pen to add lighting.

I also quickly drew in Walter 🐦 and Clay Pigeon, 🐦 as special guests in the image! I also drew a, “Happy 26th Anniversary,” banner on the board, and added in the gray hand 👌🫳🫴🤏 I impersonate a lot.

Between the Lions 🦁 inspired my love of books, 📚 storytelling, writing, ✍️ illustrating, and of course puppetry. It’s the One 1️⃣ Show that I have tried to help with getting a reboot for the future! And Guess What! The people at WGBH, and MPB, are already trying to reboot some of their old shows. And BTL is one of them! Bless Their Hearts! 🥰 I’m going to wait and see what happens. Until then, “HAPPY 26th ANNIVERSARY BETWEEN THE LIONS!” 🦁 📚📖👌🫳🫴🤏🙈🙊🙉🐵🐓🧑🏼‍🦰👱🏻‍♀️✍️🐔🐰🐇🛡️🖱️🐭👄🫦👄👩‍🎤🗽🐦🐦🧗🧓🏻🤡👖🦕🥔🕵️‍♂️🎉🥳🎉🎊🍾🥂
