Scenes from our ECNL weekend in Iowa. Didn't get the result we wanted on Saturday against a highly ranked team, but we were able to bounce back with a big win on Sunday.

ARKANSAS COMETS BU14 ECNL IOWA RECAP. A SPLIT WEEKEND IN THE ECNL HEARTLAND CONFERENCE!

Our Arkansas Comets BU14 ECNL boys returned from Iowa with a split weekend of results against Sporting Iowa ECNL and VSA Rush ECNL, moving to 6-3-0 on the season and sitting in 3rd place out of 12 teams in the highly competitive ECNL Heartland Conference! 💪⚽️

SATURDAY | vs. Sporting Iowa ECNL

Saturday was a tale of two halves. We struggled with consistency but showed some excellent football, particularly in the second half, where our possession, attacking combinations, and high press created several quality scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t find the finishing touch, hitting the woodwork twice and coming up on the wrong side of some unlucky moments. Sporting Iowa, who sits undefeated at the top of table capitalized on their counterattacking opportunities late in the second half to put the match away. They are a great side with impactful players and well coached.

SUNDAY | vs. VSA Rush ECNL | 8-1 WIN! 🔥

What a response from the boys!

Sunday was arguably our best performance of the season! The boys put everything together, dominating possession from start to finish, pressing relentlessly, moving the ball with purpose, and, most importantly, being absolutely clinical in front of goal!

Our high press carried over from Saturday’s strong second-half performance, but this time we combined it with excellent decision-making, quality movement, and clinical finishing in the attacking third. A complete team performance and a tremendous response to Saturday’s disappointment!

📊 AFTER NINE ECNL CONFERENCE MATCHES:

🏆 Record: 6 Wins | 3 Losses

📈 Conference Standing: 3rd of 12 Teams

🇺🇸 Destination: ECNL National Championships | San Diego, California June 2027

Long season to go, but to be sitting in 3rd place, occupying 1 of the 4 National Championship qualifying positions, is a fantastic accomplishment, considering this is our inaugural season for this group and a testament to their commitment, development, & willingness to compete at this level.

LET’S GO COMETS! 🔴⚪️⚽️
