It has been a joy watching your horizons expand over the years. As a Geography teacher, I couldn’t let you depart without one final look at the “map” of your journey. Here is a farewell dedicated to your next great expedition. The Final Field Trip “The bells ring out like a tectonic shift, The boundaries are moving, the continents drift. You’ve spent your years in this classroom zone, Mapping out paths you can now call your own. From the stratosphere high to the oceanic floor, You’ve looked at the world and asked for much more. We’ve traced every contour, we’ve studied the tide, But the true “Topography” is what’s inside. Don’t fear the erosion of time or of place, Or the altitudes high that you’re destined to face. Remember that pressure—like carbon in earth— Is what gives a diamond its shimmer and worth. You’re the human geography yet to be told, With stories more vibrant and maps far more bold. Though our coordinates part as you walk through that door, The world is a textbook—go out and explore. Keep your latitude high and your spirit in flight, May your inner compass always point toward the light. The lesson is over, the ink is now dry, Go find where your own unique landscapes lie.”
