I think nobody can write like Pippa Grant!

This was really good... I was so excited to dive into this after book 1. It was really fun. And I loved Ginny's character in it so much that, the excitement only doubled since book 2 is hers. And i think this was good, and definitely didn't disappoint.

I think more than the main characters, with each book I'm falling more and more in love with the whole found family. It's so wholesome, at the same time weird and quirky... The best combination out there.

Declan and Ginny were well written. And the author really got successful in making me hate Frieda Rhodes... She deserves so much hate and bad things to happen to her.

Though we got to know everyone from book 1, book 2 gave a new, much closer look to the other characters. Especially Mabel. And now I'm so ready to dive into her story. I have been excited since I met Ten in the last book.

Though I did feel like something was missing, and that's why I didn't rate it a full FIVE stars. But the whole book was still good.
I'm definitely looking forward to continuing this series!

Okay… This series is definitely going to be my next obsession!

I always said that friends – to – lovers trope is one of my least favorite ones. But I have also said that when it's done right, a friends – to – lovers arc can be truly amazing. And I can say Power Play by Chelsea Curto is an excellent example for that. Though it’s a friends – to – lovers romance, I loved every second of it!

The Windy city series taught me that, every book in a series can be as good as the other. And I have a feeling that, the DC stars are also in that same category. Because, just like face off (book 1), power play (book 2) is also really good.

I just love Liam. The broody, closed off, grumpy goal keeper can easily be the next obsession. Just like Maverick, Liam’s caring side is the sexiest one. I love a man who loves to take care of the woman he loves! Liam’s patience was another marvelous quality of his. No wonder we always go all goofy for fictional men!

And Piper is the definition of sunshine. She is a person who can light up any room she walks in. And there is no surprise that she did the same in Liam’s grumpy life too. It’s impossible not to love Piper. Though I do love Emmy with all my heart, Piper might be my favorite. Her arc was the best one so far. Piper does not believe her potential for a love life to become a woman who knows what she wants is one hell of a journey.
All the chemistry, tension and spice were an added bonus.

Everything about Piper’s and Liam’s relationship was wonderful. And just like last time, I loved the fact that there isn’t a miscommunication arc, when it could have been added, and would have gone well with the plot, for the added drama element. Reading this story was such a wonderful experience. I can definitely see why this series is so popular. Because the DC stars series deserves all the love coming its way.

I missed Preston and Marcus so I did a quick re-read of my favorite scenes from the book 🤭🧡

There is literally no other author yet that makes me wanna re-read their books as many times as I've re-read Rina Kent's 😭 it hasn't even been that long since I read Tempting Venom and I feel like I wanna re-read 🥹 but my tbr is always a priority 🥹🥹🥹

I still can't believe we have to wait till next year for a new Rina Kent book?! 😭😭😭 Crave the Villain is gonna have me crying my eyes out 🫠 but she hasn't announced anything new after that... except that very minor hint towards Damien 😭😭😭😭😭😭 what would I give to read another 1st gen character book from her!!! 🫠🫠🫠🫠

I love a romance that makes me believe in the relationship, but I also read romance because real life doesn't always give me the grand gestures, fictional men, and ridiculously perfect love stories I want.

For me, it's not about whether a romance is realistic. It's about whether the emotions feel real.

To be honest, i didn't expect this to be this entertaining!

I picked this up because, one of my favourite bookstagrammer said this series is a lot of fun to binge. And i was searching for an entertaining story to make me laugh.

Let me just say, this one definitely cracked me up.

Aunt Pip more than anyone else. Lavender too was hilarious. And sometimes she definitely makes u forget she is six instead of sixteen.

Imagine there is a safe house, or a retreat centre for women, who accidentally ends up going viral on the internet, in a very bad way. They can escape to this place to recoup themselves.

And that's why I think, the main attraction is the characters. For this story, the characters are the story. And the concept is so unique and interesting.

The complexities and the internal war after the most embarrassing moment in their life was painted so well, we feel every bit.

And then why did i cut that half star?

Because, it took me a while to get really into the story. I could only enjoy it once i was fully into it.

I think that's not a 5 star for me.

But this was close enough, and hence 4.5 stars
