Hi y'all

I'm Ariel, and this upcoming August I’ll be shooting a movie about and based in southern Maryland, St. Mary’s County! This project has been in the works for years and is now in the process of gathering funding. My team and I are young emerging filmmakers, and we are so excited to be finally nearing completion for Sweet Virginia.

St Mary’s county is where I've spent the first 15 years of my life– I feel indebted to the specific beauty of the area and the hard working people that taught me resilience.

In the past years as I’ve gone back home to visit, its rapid growth is startling. My neighborhood is changing and there is no representation of my childhood on screen. Sweet Virginia may be my first and last opportunity to capture the county the way I remember it.
