I’m not the best. I’m not perfect. Nobody is. But this is my journey and it is perfectly me, and perfectly imperfect.
————-
Yoga reminds me of the “okayness” of imperfection, and reminds me to accept it as it is. To accept myself as I am - no matter how hard it is... Even if just for a moment, it works.
————-
It’s so easy to compare oneself to the yogis all over the Internet, the ones that I don’t even know, their journey completely unknown to me. How long had they worked? How long had they just breathed through it? I couldn’t be sure of any of that. Because it’s not my journey to know. And it’s not my journey to have.
————
Yoga reminds me that even though I’m imperfect, I improve every day. It is the hope I hold when I struggle the most. When it’s hard to get out of bed, or leave the house, or wear that new outfit or even to wear the same old thing I always wear because body dysmorphia is in charge that day. Yoga gives me ammo to fight back. Peace.
————
I don’t always stick to it, and I don’t always love getting on my mat, but I’m better for it in the end. And I love it. ——————————-
