POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

FROM SCHOOLBOOKS 📚 TO A DREAM TAKING SHAPE. ❤️

Growing up, during classroom reading sessions in primary and junior secondary school, I would come across names like UNICEF, UNESCO, and WHO.

I remember seeing these names in our textbooks and on the back covers of 40/60 leaves notebooks, like the ones my mum bought for me and those other students brought to class. I also remember seeing images of children affected by crises, which shaped my early admiration for organisations working to support and protect children.

Today, I’m delighted to share that I have been selected for the UNICEF GenU 9JA YPAT 2026-2027 cohort, following a selection process involving over 6,000 applicants.

This means a lot to me, and I look forward to learning, growing, and contributing meaningfully through this opportunity.

Building the future of governance through dialogue.

Had the honour of moderating the Youth and Governance Symposium 2.0, with contributions from distinguished panellists, including;

🎯Hon. Moremi Ojodu - SSA to the President on Community Engagement for the Southwest Region.
🎯 Dr Gbenga Abiola (Agbelebu) - Former Vice Chairman Agege Local Government.
- Former
🎯 Dr Ganiu Ibikunle - Senior Lecturer, Lagos State University.
🎯Hon. Aderombi Adedayo Martins - Commedian

I was also pleased to share the broader event space with notable leaders and stakeholders, including the current Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim, Hon. commissioner Mobolaji Ogunlende and Sen. Olafare Adunni Comfort, whose presence further enriched the conversations around youth engagement and governance.

All speakers representing different pathways into governance shared their perspectives on what’s required for a meaningful youth participation, which should transcend;

🧩 Wearing matching T-shirts
🧩 Clapping during rallies
🧩 Shouting slogans
🧩 Carrying banners
🧩 Sharing campaign flyers

We explored how young people can earn seats at the table where policies are shaped rather than merely arranging the chairs.

The panellists' perspectives spanned the entire scope of governance: awareness - participation - leadership - education - political institution - nation building.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to amplify the voices of young people and also contribute to conversations that shape the future.

Build the youth, build the nation!
