Totally excited to play some drums with y’all on Saturday July 25 for the @arizonapas “Beat the Heat!” Drum set clinic - all ages and experience levels welcome. Here’s one of the tunes we’ll be jamming to: “Dai Dai” by @shakira and @burnaboygram is the official anthem of the #fifaworldcup2026 and contains elements of #Afrobeat and #Soca grooves that make it super fun to play. Sign up, for the clinic (link in bio) and we’ll send you the fully notated chart for this tune and others. Also, there is a full version of this drum cover on YouTube so you can play along or slow it down as necessary. #LETSGO 🥁🎶🔥

Congrats to my @nau_percussion students on their solo and ensemble playing throughout the day, including winning the percussion ensemble collegiate festival with a performance of Tribeca Sunflower by Julie Spencer, and performing Samba Batucada on the showcase concert!

On Friday, I also presented on some of my recent music/ projects to the GCC percussion studio, which led to some great conversations with the students!

All in all, a fun and busy percussion weekend to lead into more music making in April ☀️

Three of our graduate members performed Thierry de Mey’s Musique de Tables (also on our upcoming Percussion Group concert. More to follow…) on the showcase concert. Additionally, our own MM Caleb Hupp won the Marimba Competition! What a fun day of percussion and community! Forks Up!!
