THIS AIN’T NO SOUP TIN…

Just your average oil drum plinth…created in a 2000 year old cast bronze process, with a patchwork of intricately engraved stencil work, polished to a mirror finish.

Nothing excessive.

Cast and crafted by the team at @pangolineditions 👊 commissioned by @arkleyfineart

More to come

Our first trip to Pangolin Editions.

Pretty mind blowing / Charlie and the Chocolate factory kinda experience…the creative possibilities! 🤯 😎

As One of the UK’s premier fine art foundries, working alongside some big players such as Hirst, Gormley, Sarah Lucas, Grayson Perry to name a few… but what really stood out was how accommodating the Pangolin team were about working with the studio, listening and exploring how far we could take the creative vision.

THE COUNT IS SEVEN & CLIMBING 🧮

I posted on my stories yesterday that I have showcased 6 times in art exhibitions. And only realised much later that the actual number is 7.

I guess cos I was only thinking in terms of my 3D art which is in lampshade form. Will do another post bringing everything together but you can see the full list of where here https://www.detolaandgeek.com/pages/exhibitions

I had missed out the time I created a SAMARIVAN out of my fabric waste from making lampshades & other products. My lovely & talented artist friend, Sarah of @sarahgraham_art was raising money for a charitable cause with the @samaritanscharity. I was lucky enough to be one of the creatives she asked to take part.

All the completed VW Campervans were exhibited at Arkley Fine Art Gallery in Hitchin @arkleyfineart & auctioned off online.

My AGBEKE 2-tier ceiling pendant lampshade is currently on exhibition at the Broadway Gallery in Letchworth. See pinned post for details.

I would love to showcase more of my handmade African lampshade designs in more galleries & or interior spaces. If you have any suggestions/recommendations please let me know in the comments section below 🙏🏾
