Texture, stone, timber, arches. 🌿
Natural stone, off-form concrete and warm timber set the tone from the entry. Inside, arched joinery, sculptural handles and herringbone oak floors carry it all the way through.

🎤 A designer’s take on the details 🎤

We sat down with @arleninteriors to chat through the curtains and blinds she chose for her space — from the softness of the sheers to the practicality of layered light control behind the scenes. It’s those thoughtful choices that make a room not just look beautiful, but truly work. ✨

Hearing how each selection supports the way she lives in the space is exactly why we love what we do.

✨Grads Doing Great Things: From Maternity Leave to Magazine Features 🤍

Steph’s story isn’t about overnight success.
It’s about trusting a quiet pull, starting before you feel ready and sticking with it… even when business feels slow, confidence wobbles and life is full.

While on maternity leave with her twin girls, Steph Astri launched her interiors business @arleninteriors 🐚

It was hard.
Last year was her slowest in five.
And still, she kept showing up. 💫

Today, she’s working across residential + commercial projects and has been featured in @eat.live.escape + @livingetc and @interiorsaddict

This is what it really looks like to build a creative career alongside motherhood.
Not perfect.
Not linear.
But deeply worth it.

🔗 Read Steph’s full ‘Grads Doing Great Things’ feature via the Blog link in our bio.

If you’re sitting at home with a dream tugging at you, this one’s for you.

If you’re on maternity leave, juggling life and creativity, or quietly wondering if it’s time to back yourself, you’re not alone. 🤎

At Design School Online, we support women exactly like Steph: learning, up-skilling, building creative careers and connections in a way that works with real life, not against it.
