WINTER RECAP: SWIMMING

Legendary and Fast. These Lions turned sharks for a season and never failed to dominate. Records were shattered and challenges were overcome. To quote Senior Reagan Brower, “We were just a team that came together and gave everything we had in us to win.” Come SPC, this team had to overcome the season ending injury of one of our fastest swimmers Miller Martin, sickness from Armaan Newaskar and Oliver Geheb, and their biggest competition, St. Stephen’s, winning points from Diving (LIONS DON’T DIVE, WE JUST SWIM BABY). Confidence never wavered. This team just might have been the fastest in St. Mark’s history, or at least for now—until next year…

Record:
🏆1st in SPC

Captains: George Hoverman, Sebastian Illum, Reagan Brower, Oliver Geheb

All-SPC:
4x: Ethan Wang, George Hoverman
3x: Leo Scheiner, Sebastian Illum
2x: Armaan Newaskar, Richard Wang
1x: Benjamin Chen, Judah Isaacs-Sodeye

School Records:
100 Backstroke: 50.86 - Armaan Newaskar
100 Butterfly: 49.87 - Ethan Wang
100 Breaststroke 57.48 - George Hoverman
200 Individual Medley: 1:51.43 - Ethan Wang
200 Medley Relay: 1:34.83 - Armaan Newaskar, George Hoverman, Ethan Wang, Leo Scheiner

This concludes the Winter Recap.. the spring is upon us‼️

THE THREE-PEAT IS OFFICIAL

SM swimming domination at SPC is starting to feel played out, but rest assured this year’s meet was EVEN MORE DOMINANT.

Ethan Wang broke the St. Mark’s 200 IM record and 100 Fly record while George Hoverman broke the 100 Breast record.

All 5 seniors from St. Mark’s (Reagan Brower, Leo Scheiner, George Hoverman, Sebastian Illum, Benjamin Chen) recorded points in this historic meet, capping off their great careers with a bang!

Once again, massive congratulations to everybody on the swim team and GO LIONS!!!
