Currently on view at the @ARMitchellMuseum in Trinidad, Colorado is the fascinating group exhibition, Resonance 5 - Featuring over 40 artists! (Including Supersonic Art's curator @ZacharyGlennTutor!)

The annual exhibition invites artists to select a photograph taken by the legendary cowboy artist, AR Mitchell, and reinterpret them in whatever medium and however they might feel inspired. The results are a fascinating visual odyssey through the old west!

Corn Mountain. 12x16”

Me and Lucile Wedeking @lucilewedeking are having a duo show opening November 6th in Trinidad, CO that we are calling “Electric Rainbows”. We both have a real love of bold color in our works, hence the name. For me these pieces turned into a bit of a love letter to my home, colorful Zuni New Mexico.

Come meet us at the opening, Friday evening 5-8pm, at Kuehl Fine Art inside the beautiful A.R. Mitchell Museum.

“Steady” 16”x20” Colored pencil on paper, created for Resonance V at @armitchellmuseum 2026. Reference photo was taken by A.R. Mitchell himself.

What an honor it is to have this be my first museum show as an artist. I sincerely couldn’t have done it without Mitch, I feel that I know him like the back of my hand, and his presence in my life gave me the confidence and will power to commit to this. How lucky I am to be part of this place in all my creative endeavors.

The community that surrounds me makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Thank you.

All artwork is for sale through the A.R. Mitchell Museum website, and the digital catalog I created for this show can be found at the link in my bio. I think I’m going to do prints of this piece so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested!

Sometimes a painting’s story continues long after the final brushstroke.

At the Resonance 5 opening, I discovered that the woman in the archival photograph that inspired my painting Western Gothic was Ethel “Tot” Erickson, sister of A.R. Mitchell.

Tot was instrumental in preserving her brother’s artistic legacy and keeping his collection in Trinidad, where my painting now hangs at the museum bearing his name.

An unexpected and meaningful discovery!

Special thanks to Vibeke Adkisson, Allyson Sheumaker, and the wonderful museum staff for sharing her story.

Opening TONIGHT! “The Last Sunset” is part of Resonance 2026 show at @armitchellmuseum in Trinidad CO. A show unlike any other. Artists submit their portfolio, and upon approval are given access to the museum’s amazing collection of historic photos. You select a photo that speaks to you and base your piece off it. Then the two hang together in the museum. I chose “Cowboys and horses rearing.” It’s unlike me to be drawn to an action shot but something about this photo caught my attention.

I am so happy to be selected and I look forward to the day I can get down to this museum in person!
