It’s hard to put into words everything Madonna Track & Field has meant to me.

This program gave me a place to grow, compete, & become the person & athlete I am today. Through the highs & the lows I learned what it means to be resilient in the way I show up every day. I learned patience when things didn’t go as planned, leadership when I had to stay steady for myself & others, & how to keep going when giving up felt easier. There were days my body felt heavy and my mind even heavier, but I still stepped on that track & gave everything I had, every time.

To every teammate I’ve had over the last 5 years, thank you for being my family. You made the hard days lighter, the long days shorter, & the good days even better. Thank you for showing up for me, cheering me on, & helping me through days I couldn’t get through alone. I am going to miss the kind of laughter that left our stomachs hurting, & cheering so loud, we lost our voices.

Coach Stacy, thank you for taking a chance on me. You saw something in me that i did not yet see in myself. You'd always say, “it’s hard being great,” & over time, I learned just how true that is. You pushed me beyond limits, encouraged me to be myself, & challenged me to face adversity with a different mindset.

Even though my last championship was not the result I wanted, I am so grateful for everything my time here has given me. National Champion, 2x National Runner-Up, 16x All-American, 9x conference champion, Athlete of the Year, numerous school records, & even an NAIA record. Wow. What a blessing it has all been.

I am so blessed that Madonna became the place I called home. I thank God because, out of everywhere life could have taken me, I believe Madonna was exactly where I was meant to be. It is so bittersweet saying goodbye to something that gave me so much. I leave my collegiate career healthy, injury free, fulfilled, & with a heart fuller than I ever could have imagined.

Year 1 as a college coach and I couldn’t have stumbled into a better program. We spent time laughing, fighting, crying and everything in between. I’m honored to have been a small part of these young men and women’s journey. Women’s team made history this year with a conference championship and 3rd place trophy and the men were crowned best team in America outdoors. I’ll never forget this group and all they’ve overcome and accomplished. We’ll continue to improvise, Adapt and Overcome! Special thanks to the real MVP’s who make this all possible @coachlatnie @coachoruns and @madonna_throws

A look at school records broken over the past few weekends‼️🔥

•Armon Howard broke the 600m school record at the GVSU Big Meet & again at WHAC Championships

•Mason Darden recorded two school record throws in the Weight Throw at the GVSU Big Meet & became the first in Madonna History to record throws over 19m‼️

•Jaylah Walton broke the 60m Hurdle record in 9.20s at the GVSU Big Meet & tied her SB again at WHAC Championships

•Mehdi Nait Hamoud broke his own school records in the 800m & Mile at the GVSU Big Meet which he previously set earlier this season!

•Ny’tierra Hobbs also broke her own records in the 60m Dash & 200m Dash at the GVSU Big Meet, and tied her 60m Record again at WHAC Championships
