From HVAS Cadet Dalton to USMA Cadet Dalton!

Chief Beatty and his family attended the Army Football game today and while they enjoyed watching the team bring home a huge 56-24 win over FAU, his daughters loved seeing HVAS EMT Sophia Dalton in action! Cadet Dalton is in her Plebe year at West Point majoring in American Politics and participating as a Cheerleader with the Rabble Rousers!

Paraphrasing from the USMA website, as a plebe, Cadet Dalton has stepped into a role that is both symbolic and demanding, where she’ll learn discipline, humility, resilience, and what it means to put the team before herself. This year is all about mastering the fundamentals and proving her character through action, not words. We hope Cadet Dalton is having a great first year expanding on her leadership skills, further developing her character and also enjoying her journey of service to our country that has just begun! We thank her for her service to our community and look forward to her continued service both to our community and to our country. #WestPoint #USMA #DutyHonorCountry

Army Cheerleaders, 1 October 1955. A Cadet win over Penn State, 35–6. Both teams ranked. The cheer squad does not seem to have been officially the Rabble Rousers until the early 1960s, but the term appears in a 1937 Howitzer in quotes for a cheerleader & is even older in non-USMA contexts, dating to the early 19th ¢ as a reference to a troublemaker.
