The difference a year can, and often times will, make.

A year ago this week, I was in the jungles of Riojas, Peru, at a Healer's Retreat where all the facilitators were also the participants and we each shared our unique offerings and medicine with one another. I was there with a broken heart. Ready to serve yes, and deeply cut wide open. Tender to the touch. Upset. Feeling betrayed. Abandoned. Angry with myself. Yet, smiling through it all.

I didn't think I would make it to Peru. A beautiful first-time Mom I was doula-ing was due around the same time as the retreat, and I wasn't sure how it would all unfold. Yet, when my client and her hubby gave me this beautiful thank you gift, with a few items from Peru in it (without even knowing about the retreat), I knew baby girl would come and I would be in Peru after. That's precisely what happened. Baby E made her entrance on the 16th, I bought my ticket 2 hours later, and 2 days later I was on a flight to Peru with @aromakaura and @somatichealings.

As soon as we stepped onto the tarmac, I knew that all I needed was to be in Peru. Anything else that happened after that point was a bonus. But it was beyond a bonus, really.

It was a reconciliation, a recovering, a deep cleansing, a restoring, a reclaiming. It was a surgery and my heart was the focus; I arrived with a penetrating grief and left with a clean and clear heart, and an understanding that the only way out is through. Grief and Joy can and often times do co-exist. I learned to walk with both equally.

I had no idea what and who were coming into my life during and in the months shortly after my time at Casa Kallpa. And yet, all that was required was my yes and a willingness to follow where I was being guided.

I Am grateful to be on the other side of grief and to have been held and witnessed by some powerful priestesses as I birthed myself anew in the jungle. And I look forward to returning home to the jungle this time stronger, wiser, and in celebration of joy, life and love ❤️🌹

PERU RECAP 🤍✨🙏 This time last year I was in Peru! I got to explore Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain with @morenomiami and @ame_rica_latina and wowowow what a magical adventure it was! Then I went deep into the jungle to @casakallpa.retreats near Rioja for an all women’s retreat that was also just so special. This has been a tough year, I lost someone very close to me he was like my one of a kind grandad a few weeks before this trip, then when I got back weeks later my doggie of almost 13 years crossed the rainbow bridge. I didn’t realize how much of a toll it’s taken on me but it’s been a journey! I am so grateful through it all. What a blessing it is to live and love!!! Remember to not take life so serious, hehehe to let things be the way they are without force, flowing through the waves of life, leading with love and grace, all will happen the way it’s meant too! Welcome to sun session Adornment @spiritweavers ! @township31 and I have been working for months planning for this year and I couldn’t be more excited to get to be here, on this magical land for the next two weeks. It’s really like the dream I had of what camp would have been like, if I had grown up going. I get to see so many amazing friends who I only see once a year in cave junction. Thank you to our amazing team I can’t wait to be with you all tomorrow 🤍🤍🤍

Two weeks from new my soul sister @township31 and I will be in the woods for the 5th year in a row, at our favorite women’s gathering @spiritweavers for two weeks. We have been building our team of magical adornment practitioners, haircutters, tattoo artists, fragrance folks, a tooth gem artist, a color analyzer, and more for months. We will camp in the woods and play in the river and cuddle with each other for days on end. I can’t wait! It’s truly the summer camp experience I wish I had as a kid that I get to enjoy as a grown ass woman. I can’t wait!!

Grateful for everyone who made this year extra special.

After many years, Ty knows now not to plan anything on my actual bday cause I get so moody and unpredictable. Lol. Taurus Gemini Cusp. But he told some friends to come see me at 4th Fridays the next day.
Grateful for all the love , food, and gifts. Love spending time with @disadandelion and segi and she brought spa day to me (cause I canceled on my bday) with her fave natural beauty products . Got serenaded a few times 💗 and space was full of laughter and kids hanging out.
This weekend , I also got to spend some time at one of my fave places when I moved to LA ( during a pop up ). This cultural hub ( Leimert Park) hosted some of my fave events I used to go to (still do) and came here for dance classes a lot. Felt the energy of one of my fave teachers come through while her friends and students performed 🌀. It was powerful. Was also around all the healing energy & saw some of my fave energy workers 💗 @panacea.holistic.institute @moyabodycare and danced drinking fresh coconuts with @thatcolagirl . Plus beach skate event and community fundraiser for Cuba and Palestine. Grateful to be surrounded by so many spectrums of collectives and creative spaces. Thank you community for a beautiful weekend 💗
