Looking at these five, I clearly have a type. Dark, smoky and slightly complicated. Apparently even my perfume has to have a bit of an attitude.

Introducing ARPA Studios at Experience 27.

Created by French perfumer Barnabé Fillion, ARPA explores the meeting of scent, art, sound and memory. Fillion’s background in photography and botanical studies—and his longstanding fragrance work with Aesop—inform a distinctly sensory approach to perfumery.

The ritual extends to the object: a refillable, hand-blown glass bottle by Jochen Holz, a glass pipette and funnel, 60 ml of Eau de Parfum, and a scented glycerine soap shell.

Four compositions to discover: Piel, Ferragus, Fosforo and Matter.

Shiso and dry hay soften into iris and frankincense, with ambrette bringing a warm, musky finish.

Invisible, sound has entered fashion spaces

A speaker performs one task: it moves air. A signal arrives from an amplifier, passes through a voice coil suspended in a magnetic field, the current fluctuates, the coil drives a diaphragm, the diaphragm pushes the air in the room.

Everything else exists to control how that air reaches the listener.
The mechanism: magnet, voice coil, diaphragm, cabinet. Woofer for low frequencies, tweeter for high, crossover distributing the signal between them. The cabinet is part of the acoustic system, not a container — every surface and cavity changes what reaches the room.
