La @aakashodedracompany porta alla #BiennaleDanza2025 una creazione che unisce rigore classico e impulso contemporaneo, restituendo al pubblico un corpo che vive tra due mondi.
Dalla tradizione del kathak alla sperimentazione più libera, i danzatori costruiscono un linguaggio fatto di vortici, improvvise linee spezzate, silenzi che diventano ritmo.
Un dialogo vivo tra ciò che siamo stati e ciò che possiamo diventare; è una danza che respira, trema, si piega e si rialza.

The #AakashOdedraCompany brings to Biennale Danza 2025 a creation that weaves together classical rigor and contemporary impulse, offering the audience a body that exists between two worlds.
From the tradition of kathak to freer forms of experimentation, the dancers build a language made of vortices, sudden broken lines, and silences that turn into rhythm.
A living dialogue between who we have been and who we might become; a dance that breathes, trembles, bends, and rises again.

@friedemannvogel_official, Principal Dancer of @thestuttgartballet and cover artist of D&D International No. 47 (🇮🇹 D&D #320), returns to @opera_roma with Die Seele am Faden / Soul Threads — a creation developed with @thomaslempertz ,with music by @_gaisma_ ,digital art by @timo.kreitz ,and inspired by Heinrich von Kleist’s text “On the Marionette Theatre”.

Presented for the first time at @festivaldispoleto and acclaimed by the Danza&Danza critics, the piece went on to win two D&D 2024 Awards for Choreography/Performance for Friedemann Vogel and Lighting Design for Fabiana Piccioli @arptheatre

Now, this celebrated work arrives at the Teatro Nazionale for two unmissable performances on December 12 and 13.

“The golden gates of dance heaven have opened.” – Aakash Odedra

We are thrilled to welcome Aakash Odedra as a new Associate Artist at Sadler’s Wells.

Aakash is a visionary dancer and choreographer whose work masterfully reimagines classical and contemporary forms to tell urgent, meaningful stories for today’s world.

His work has moved audiences around the world and now, he returns to the institution where his journey first began. “Sadler’s is where I performed my first ever solo in 2009,” Aakash shares. “Now, after many years, I return to the same stage with my latest solo, Songs of the Bulbul a celebration to commemorate the associate-ship. The journey so far has been beautiful, and now I feel life has come full circle.”

This week, that circle completes and a new one begins as Songs of the Bulbul opens at Sadler’s Wells East, marking Aakash’s first performance at our newest theatre.

I would like to dedicate this award to @mirakaushik ji.

mira ji has always been someone who has supported and encouraged me at points in life where I had nothing and not much going for me. I have admired the way she has put south Asian arts forward as her own family, sacrificing her own personal life to give voice to so many artists in the British Asian arts world. Gracefully dealing with all her "children" as she called us.
You @mirakaushik are one in a million to me ! Thank you for setting a foundations for so many of us to grow for generations !
