Kick things off at @ravesfromthegrave - Independent record shop, stuffed with vinyl, CDs and DVDs since the late 90s. Give yourself an hour (or more)

Round the corner is @saddlegoosewine. Named after old slang for a fool, from a time when people doubted England could grow good wine. Taste their sustainable organic wine and see just how wrong those people were. (We’re also obsessed with their branding)

@deckanddagger An excellent hobby store & tabletop gaming space!

Try on a few pieces at @arrowild.store for your next stomp up the peaks or surf trip to Cornwall. Carhartt, Finisterre, Redwing and more…

A modern interpretation of a hardware store, @fromehardware has it’s own laser cutter tucked in the back? You may find yourself going in for a scrubbing brush and coming out with it engraved 😅

Pop to @palmerstbottle for a sit down. Craft beer, wine, an artisan cheese counter that’s properly good.

Halfway up Catherine hill you’ll find @mooandtwo where you can get delicious small batch coffee and loose leaf tea in a really cozy setting.

Last one, and it’s a big one. @rye_bakery cafe on Whittox Lane, the best bread, pastry and lunch and room for the kids to run around. On the 16th of August, 12

SHOP: Wander the length of Catherine Hill and Cheap Street to unearth shopping heaven. Vintage and reworked gems from Dandy Lion and Poot Emporium, stylish men’s fashion and outdoors kit at Assembly, Arrowild and Johnny Szymanski; local art and handicrafts at Owl; haberdashery at Millie Moon, classy independent homeware at Neighbour Utility, Kobi And Teal, Frome Hardware and the unmissable, uncategorisable Hung. Drawn. Quoted.

EAT: The High Pavement for moro-inspired North African-Spanish fusion and Bistro Lotte for a great neighbourhood French joint; bread 🍞 , pastries 🥐 (and pizza 🍕 weekend evenings) at Rye Bakery (Nb there are two of them).

DRINK: Lamb & Fountain for one of the last unmucked about cider pubs in the area or Still life Gin for Frome’s own gin.

COFFEE: this town is serious about beans, you can’t go wrong at Moo and Two, Projects or River House.

DO: Go bouldering. The Boulder Rooms 🧗‍♂️ is a friendly climbing centre that has weekly-changing overhangs to challenge all standards, with a great café and hangout space.

The Hill is looking particularly Christmasy at the moment. Last week of November, finger's crossed 🤞 its a good one.

🎄🎄LOVE it when our small market town gets all dressed up for Christmas! Frome’s Christmas lights are switched on tonight with a spectacular lantern parade @fromelanterns and @frometowncouncil and look at how beautiful all the small, independent shop windows are this year.

In a couple of weeks we’ll be bringing around 250 of the best food producers, artists, makers and flea experts to town for the last The Frome Independent of the year. It’ll be a cracker AND you can explore picturesque Frome and all our amazing small independent businesses while you’re here. ❤️ 🎁

Oh, and on Sunday the mighty, world famous @cobblewobble returns to Catherine Hill! 🚴

🚴‍♂️ Frome, it’s just SIX days until we wobble!

The legendary Cobble Wobble is back on Sunday 23rd November (from 12 noon) - and it’s set to be a cracker!

And yes the event goes ahead whether it is sunny, cold or pouring with rain, so don’t let the British weather dampen your spirits! Especially as the most excellent team at @shimano_uk have given us FIVE HUNDRED reusable rain ponchos to hand out to you lovely lot 🌦️
