Haven't made it out to the Wings Gallery yet? Stop by to see "Recording NOT in Progress" open until the 28th

This exhibit is a collaborative installation between Giampaolo Asper and Che Fonzino. Asper combines digital elements with Fonzino's installed objects to explore awareness, surveillance, and the occupation of space. While the presence of a live camera creates the illusion of surveillance, nothing is recorded. The experience of being surveilled has been separated from the creation of a permanent record.

Another wonderful three week natural color intensive with the best community oriented cohort of oldies and newbies. We took over the art building in-between semesters and explored a myriad of interdisciplinary approaches to natural color.

(Values Based Action) I Was Hoping You’d Do That

Wood, PLA, plaster, projection, and audio

The installation began with an interest in values—not as abstract ideals, but as guiding principles developed over time and utilized to shape behavior.

Five interconnected structures occupy the space, threaded with rope networks, dripped plaster, and projected gestures of reaching. Projected imagery moves through the woven forms rather than simply onto them, fragmenting across surfaces and extending outward as shadows throughout the room.

Hardened drips and accumulating plaster imply values becoming more concrete as we develop from childhood into adulthood. The projected downward-reaching gestures move through surrounding structures of rope and plaster, shaped by the influences they move through. The gestures serve as a reminder to consistently live through one’s foundational values.
