Photos in the new space finally! There are windows literally everywhere now so I'm playing with all of the space to find my new favorite photo area. This super-satisfying shag transformation was shot in front of our new gallery wall featuring art by @ashleesmashleeart . When you come in for your next service make sure you explore all of the new areas in the salon, and remind me to get a before and after!

“You are not unlovable. There is always something to love. Even in a stupid, stupid universe where we have hotdogs for fingers, we get very good with our feet.” - @everythingeverywheremovie
👁👁🌭🤚🏼

Ash had me and my feet dancing in the rain over this stormy, cloudy sunset hair color we dreamed up together 🌅 + a bang trim. Check out the gorgeous grow out of this haircut she had done by @chelsrosehour in January.

We went to the back of the shop and had a hauntingly enchanting photoshoot. 🦇☁️

@ashleesmashleeart is showing her artwork at @littlebrokenthings new shop grand opening! Save the date 💌 Sat May 7th 7-10pm! See the salon’s page for more info!

Here a mini vlog of my adventures in finding a print copy of Chicago Reader Best Of 2021 edition.
*I got my first ever Reader nominations this year (Best Singer Songwriter and International or World Music Act) & my first runner up win for the Best Singer Songwriter which landed me in the March 2022 issue of this Iconic Chicago Publication. Naturally, i went to search for a copy for my personal records! 📣
Thanks to Little Broken Things @snipz.by.ash for setting one aside and signing one for me! 💙
Congratulations to all the winners and nominees and to all who are working and hustling to make a better life for themselves and their community! Love you, my Chicago

Look how ethereal @snipz.by.ash looks in this wig 😭😍💖 Thank you so much, Ash, for being your radiant self and modeling this hair.
(You need to check out her hair work ^^^ and her art work - @ashleesmashleeart)

For the past couple months, this wig has been an outlet, a representation of outwardly embodying lightness and colorful expression, but also honoring the darkness within, the raw, heavy, and very human emotions I feel often. Surrendering to unknowns, releasing a sense of control over expectations, outcomes, tendencies to fixate and second-guess… and allow for creative freedom to flow. I’ve colored it 3 times, cut it once, and I’ll probably do more to it over time. Anyone else revisit WIPs like this?

Taking a pause and seeing the way this lives now, though, has been an encouraging reminder that progress is constantly unfolding! Even if you can’t clearly or immediately see it!! And it’s important to step back to appreciate the now and reflect on what was… you may be pleasantly surprised on what you discover. ❤️‍🩹

Wig services are not something I currently offer, but if you want hair color/cut like this, let’s connect and create. 🌟
