@fernandoalo_oficial personal Bugatti EB110GT is absolutely stunning🍷Finished in Rosso Scuro, probably my favourite colour I’ve seen finished on this car. From catching this car in Monterey 2024 and Paris 2025 this car now joins Alonso’s incredible collection in Monaco!

HAPPY JENSON 😀

🇬🇧 Jenson Button drove its Chrysler Viper GTS-R, chassis C25 that he recently purchased, during the Monterey Motorsport Reunion in Laguna Seca (California). Seems the 2009 F1 World Champion enjoyed the run

A Group C icon, powered by Porsche’s legendary 3.0L twin-turbo flat-six: The Porsche 962C 🇩🇪
At the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans, chassis #154 started 20th and fought its way to an incredible 3rd overall.
Truly incredible to see this pure Le Mans legend.

THE BUCHAREST RACERS

Last summer a BMW 328 that competed at the Bucharest Grand Prix between in the late 30s driven by Ernst Henne was brought to Bucharest to conmemorate BMW's presence in the race and to reproduce a picture of the car taken at the Monument of the Heroes of the Air (Monumentul Eroilor Aerului).

After WWII, silence. No motoring events of any remote international importance were ever held again until the mid to late 2000s, almost two decades after the fall of the communist regime in Romania. We have to thank the reds for setting us decades back like they do anywhere they go.

The 2008 Dakar Rally was held between Hungary and Romania due to security concerns in Africa but before that Bucharest held a round of the FIA GT Championship in 2007 and 2008 in a makeshift street circuit and I can say with total certainty that those two events were the peak of motorsport events there. Nothing else came close before or after and I don't see any meaningful races happening in the country again for many years to come, while Hungary has held an F1 race for 40 years and the full Ferrari Racing Days lineup is coming in September. We barely have two or three tracks that were built without considering FIA grading to leverage them properly.

Anyways, back to the FIA GT races. Turns out I saw a few of the cars that competed back then in several events:

- MC12 GT1 15443 (both)
- MC12 GT1 15344 (2007)
- DBR9/9 GT1 (2007)
- F430 GTC 2618 (2008)
- MC12 GT1 15441 (2007)
- DBR9/7 GT1 (2007)
- C5R-007 (both)

Currently we have minor rally and drift events, locally-relevant car events that are merely to the level of the average UK cars & coffee, a concours d'elegance that has potential but hasn't happened again after 2023 for some reason (which is a shame) but a collector scene that's growing up and one has to keep an eye for. You could say we are not a country of road races but tend more to tuning.
