September had some bitter moments and some sweet, but all in all I'm so grateful!!

As we transitioned from the last days of summer, to the beginning of fall, I was able to enjoy a boat ride with hubby to Seaport Village, make a trip to L.A. to soak in all the black joy at the Black Girl Art Show with my daughter, and enjoy a cute day in the park at a bunny fest. We also were able to try a couple of restaurants and catch some beautiful moments in nature.

We were able to do all of this all while caring for our bunny girl who had spay surgery because she developed uterine cancer (don'twait as long as I did to spay your girl bunnies 🫶🏾). I was so nervous for my bun baby, but she is so strong and brave, and is recovering well.

Life has felt quite strange as we settle into our new life here in San Diego, but I'm still doing my best to find joy in the small moments while slowly finding my way back to who I am as we figure things out. It's been so hard, but I trust that God has a plan.

Thanks to my husband for being so patient with me and my bouts of crying out of the blue and loving me through my not so good days 🫶🏾. I'm so thankful for him and all of my family and friends who talk me down from spiraling lol 🫂💛. Things will get better and start to make sense in due time! October let's see what you have for me 💛✨️

Obodo means so much to us because it gives us a place to gather, create, dance, and show up for one another on the Historic Westside.

Every last Sunday of the month, we see Black and Latino artists, vendors, families, and neighbors bring their gifts into the same space. We buy from each other. We cheer each other on. We make room for new faces and celebrate the people who keep coming back.

That’s what you’re seeing in this video. The joy is real. The support is real. And every time we come together at Obodo, we’re reminded how much this community has to give. ❤️

The Black Girl Art Show was a powerful reminder of what happens when women take up space to create and let what lives inside of them be seen 🖼️⚡️
