✨REVIEW✨ ** may contain some spoilers** (Hard to explain without mentioning some things) The September House by Carissa Orlando ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a really hard review for me, for once I’m stumped for words.😅 I want to try my best to explain how this one made me feel. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt. It oddly felt like it was trying to be a comedy horror book (which if it is I wasn’t expecting it to be) and I thought to myself “What is this?”. Like it was so odd to me that this woman wasn’t terrified that her house was haunted and to decide to live among them as if it’s totally ok. The walls would bleed and she would clean them like it was something as normal as dirt on the wall. This was the first half of the book and it makes you think ok where is this going. Maybe this was the books intention because despite my early feelings I wanted to keep going and something kept me pulled in. The second half was COMPLETELY different and I loved every second of it! This book had a very interesting twist I didn’t see coming and the ending was horrifically terrific! Despite the first half of the book feeling completely different than the second half and a certain character annoying me I ended up liking this book, I liked it enough to continue my artsy review! Hope you like it! I would recommend it! If I had to try to compare it to something to try to make you understand how it felt to me is if you took the show Ghosts and the movie IT and like mashed them together. And a little shout out to @wish.upon.a.tbr for sort of buddy reading this with me! It was fun chatting about it! It’s definitely a unique read, nothing like anything I ever read but a little over hyped😅🫣 (I said what I said) . . . #booksta #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookshelf #bookstore #bookshop #bookshelves #booklover #booksandcoffee #booksbooksbooks #bookstagramfeature #bookstack #lovebooks #booksarelife #booksandbeans #bookshelfie #booksofig #booksy #booklovers

✨REVIEW✨ The Invisible Hour by Alice Hoffman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I absolutely ADORED this book! It literally transported me into a world of dreams and heartbreak and wonder✨ It’s the perfect length less than 300 pages making it easy to devour in one sitting! I loved this so much I want it to be a movie and I didn’t want it to end! Not quite a 5 even though I loved it only because it was hard to understand what time period it was in and went back and forth between times often. I’m such an Alice Hoffman fan now! Can’t wait to read more of her books! Synopsis: One brilliant June day when Mia Jacob can no longer see a way to survive, the power of words saves her. The Scarlet Letter was written almost two hundred years earlier, but it seems to tell the story of Mia’s mother, Ivy, and their life inside the Community—an oppressive cult in western Massachusetts where contact with the outside world is forbidden, and books are considered evil. But how could this be? How could Nathaniel Hawthorne have so perfectly captured the pain and loss that Mia carries inside her? Through a journey of heartbreak, love, and time, Mia must abandon the rules she was raised with at the Community. As she does, she realizes that reading can transport you to other worlds or bring them to you, and that readers and writers affect one another in mysterious ways. She learns that time is more fluid than she can imagine, and that love is stronger than any chains that bind you. As a girl Mia fell in love with a book. Now as a young woman she falls in love with a brilliant writer as she makes her way back in time. But what if Nathaniel Hawthorne never wrote The Scarlet Letter? And what if Mia Jacob never found it on the day she planned to die? Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote: “A single dream is more powerful than a thousand realities.” This is the story of one woman’s dream. For a little while it came true. 💬I took this picture in an actual place! Let’s see who’s been paying attention and for fun please guess where it is and comment below! . . . #booksta #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booklover #booksbooksbooks #bookstack #lovebooks #booksarelife #bookshelfie #booksofig #booksy #booklovers

✨REVIEW BUT MAKE IT ARTSY✨ This is How We End Things by R.J. Jacobs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Before I get to my review I wanted to share that I was inspired by the authors post when the book released last week and asked permission if I could do this in my style and I’m so glad I did! I’m not sure I’ll do this for EVERY review but I loved making digital artistic photos so much for reviews, I wanted to try to combine my two passions, love of art and books, and make it more ME and hands on! Now to the review! I FREAKIN LOVED THIS BOOK!!! R.J. Jacobs is a literal genius and his books are always so well written they are just perfection🤌 So many twists and turns my head was spinning but not in an annoying way! I had my suspicions early on but R.J. knows how to make you question yourself and make you think in a whole other lane. I ended up being right but that friggen reveal come on!!!! I was screaming! I LOVED IT! I DEVOURED THIS BOOK! SECRETS AROUND EVERY CORNER! Also loved the mention of Florida in the book! I’m sad that I only have one book left of his to read before I have to wait for his next work but gosh it was just so good I can’t stop thinking about it! And obviously I loved it enough and was inspired to paint again! I’m a little rusty and water color isn’t my preferred medium so please be kind and I obviously need to work on my trees 😅 Do yourself a favor and read his books if not you are missing out! @rjjacobs75 can do no wrong! ✨LATE NIGHT REVIEW✨ The Drowning Woman by Robyn Harding ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I wanted so much more from this😭 It started off so good and unique but then just turned into a domestic thriller that’s been done before. I don’t mind domestic thrillers but even though I’ve read books like Behind Closed Doors which I loved this one seemed to realistic making it a little uncomfortable. It’s hard to explain, I love my thrillers to be a little more like “I know this isn’t real” and those are more enjoyable to me. When it comes to things that are real I don’t want to read them in a fictional book. Does that make sense? It was ok just wasn’t my cup of tea. Very predictable. I’m sorry @killerthrillercrew and @thecandidkatalog I wanted to love it! But thanks for another great group read! If you are gonna give this a read also check trigger warnings. Synopsis: Lee Gulliver never thought she’d find herself living on the streets—no one ever does—but when her restaurant fails, and she falls deeper into debt, she leaves her old life behind with nothing but her clothes and her Toyota Corolla. In Seattle, she parks in a secluded spot by the beach to lay low and plan her next move—until early one morning, she sees a sobbing woman throw herself into the ocean. Lee hauls the woman back to the surface, but instead of appreciation, she is met with fury. The drowning woman, Hazel, tells her that she wanted to die, that she’s trapped in a toxic, abusive marriage, that she’s a prisoner in her own home. Lee has thwarted her one chance to escape her life. Out of options, Hazel retreats to her gilded cage, and Lee thinks she’s seen the last of her, until her unexpected return the next morning. Bonded by disparate but difficult circumstances, the women soon strike up a close and unlikely friendship. And then one day, Hazel makes a shocking request: she wants Lee to help her disappear. It’ll be easy, Hazel assures her, but Lee soon learns that nothing is as it seems, and that Hazel may not be the friend Lee thought she was. . . #booksta #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booklover #booksandcoffee #booksbooksbooks #bookstagramfeature #bookstack #lovebooks #booksarelife #booksandbeans #bookshelfie #book
