Episode 04
Julie Verhoeven — Part 1

I’m very happy to share the first part of my interview with Julie Verhoeven.

Throughout our exchange, what struck me most was Julie’s warmth, honesty and generosity. She has been incredibly kind from the very beginning, and I’m deeply grateful to her for sharing her memories and thoughts so openly with me.

Works featured in this post:
2005 — The Illustrated Ape, “The Julie Verhoeven Magic Issue”
1990 — Illustration for John Galliano
2001–2002 — Design

Thank you, Julie, for your trust, your openness, and above all, your kindness. X

Part 2 will follow.

The best moments are the ones we normally don’t share. The friendship, the smiles, the sharing.

Admirations followed by love, It can’t be better than that. What a lovely night. @billsrestaurant have the best food.

So fab to catch last weekend of the brilliant @julieverhoeven show #positivevibesonly @quenchgallery -

Rich tragi-comic riff on empty welcomes and reasons to be cheerful - or not… and life’s works …

including some ritual infantilising of art writers no 3; and in ‘End of Line’ section paintings by brother Leo and late Dad Jack and the beautiful drawings of late Mum Shirley - including of Julie No 5; poster for @southlondongallery No 6; and pics of old friend Alexis No 9;

Thank you 🍋❤️👍🏻❤️🍋 Lou! Xxx
