dwc dublin 2026 solo❤️🖤 in all honesty, I came off stage not so certain about my performance and it took me quite a few watches to come round to not seeing this solo in a negative light. but this one wasn’t about the glitz and glam, the big over the top or creating something I thought the judges would like… this one was about doing it on my terms and my way! after a difficult few years and a lot of growth I’ve finally got to the stage where I can do it and my way and that is something to be proud of. thank you to @movedancewear for my beautiful solo top! here it is! my top 10 solo I competed as part of team Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🧠 @artchoreo 👞 @rubensanchezdancewear #scottishdancer #movedancewear #tapdancer #dancersofinstagram #teamscotland

Happy Friday! This video from Arwen Seilman (@arwengemma; @artchoreo) of Scotland might as well serve as an #ImpromptuTapLesson this morning. In this clip, Arwen is giving a private lesson to her young pupil, Nieve (@team_thomson_x) at @blazin.studios in Edinburgh. She taught her the proper way to perform shuffle pickup changes; the tips Arwen gave young Nieve could very well be useful for everyone else, including myself! So… watch and enjoy the learning process. This is how tap dancers grow. Then, read below for Arwen’s tips for effective shuffle pickup changes. 💜 #ScotlandTapFam #ShufflePickupChanges #tapdance #TheFutureOfTap Repost from @artchoreo Tips to remember for shuffle pick up changes💁‍♀️✨ • be in a skater position with a back (or side) shuffle • keep your weight placement further forward to focus on your counter balance, thinking about being up and over your core • ELEVATION - this will be your best friend in a shuffle pick up change. getting off the floor with enough space and time to get your pick up in. which means USE YOUR PLIÉ - if you don’t bend your knees there’s no where to go • use your arms - they are on your body for a reason, let them help you execute the step not hinder you! • when dancing at a faster speed keep your pick up smaller and more underneath you, the bigger the movement the more time it will take had the pleasure of teaching wee Nieve @team_thomson_x this morning who trains @dunedindanceacademy . we worked on our shuffle pick up changes and did some very difficult choreo for someone so young, so proud of how hard you always work for me. thank you for being a star✨ 📍 @blazin.studios
