💔 OUR SAFE SPACE IS IN DANGER 💔

We are Motivated Mindset Dance Studio — a youth-led creative home deep in Huruma slum, Nairobi.

For years, we’ve used dance to heal, uplift, and empower young talent from Mathare, Kariobangi, Kiamaiko, Madoya, Ngei, and beyond.

🕊️ This studio isn’t just a space.
It’s our refuge, our dream, our second home.

But now…
We are at risk of shutting down due to unpaid rent arrears.

🎖️ We’ve proudly raised our flag high:
🏆 MTM Awards (UK)
🏆 Xtreem Awards
🏆 Timiza Awards
🏆 TUKUZA Awards
🏆 FEMA Awards
🏆 Africa Kids Awards
🏆 Mama Africa Awards
🏆 E360 Awards
🏆 Dance Afrique
🏆 Children of the Year Awards (South Africa)

Yet, our home is in danger of being lost 💔

🙏🏽 We are calling on you — our community, our supporters, our heroes.
Please help us keep this dream alive.

📢 Tag donors, NGOs, celebrities, philanthropists, and well-wishers who can stand with us.
Every tag, every share, every coin matters.

A Celebration of Culture and Dance – Sabor Latino Dance Competition

On Sunday, March 16, the El Segundo High School Auditorium became a vibrant stage for the Sabor Latino Dance Competition, a breathtaking showcase of world folk dance directed by the amazing Irene Hernández.

From dynamic groups to mesmerizing duets and powerful soloists, each performer brought passion, precision, and cultural pride to the stage. It was an honor to serve as a judge and witness such extraordinary talent. Huge congratulations to all the dancers and heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event possible!

A “Zoom” through what was 2021!

A crazy year that was more of a rollercoaster than the scooby-doo ride at Movie world. Thankyou to @dnestudios_ , @kandvdancecorp and @village_nation for a fantastic but crazy year, sticking by us during lockdown and making lockdown a more bearable by being able to still see the kids smiling faces every week and also @ablazedanceacademy , @breannasacademy & @brentstreet for having me throughout the year.

Also Thankyou to all the people that I was able to take class and learn off again especially during lockdown - @laureneltonn_ , @winston.sky, @gaynorrrr, @robbiekmetoni @markopanzic - Thankyou for keeping dance alive for us.

What was year to remember full of memories and beautiful moments all I can say is good bye 2021 and bring on 2022!!

To my ART Dance Academy family,

I truly cannot put into words the heartache I am feeling whilst writing this… devastation is an understatement.

First of all, I want to thank you for all of the memories made over my time at the studio. ADA has paved my way as a dance teacher and I feel so very privileged to have been part of such an ICON. The magic created between those walls... this, I will carry with me for the rest of my life. If you know, you know.

There will never be a studio quite like ADA. Wear that as your Medal of Honour, take it everywhere you go. The bond was so very unique, so wear it with pride.

You are FIERCE, TALENTED BEYOND MEASURE, and LOVED so deeply. No matter what you do in life, I will always be in your corner.

Love you, always.

MISS CHAR xx
