My friend @artdecca painted this piece for me, but I want people to understand why having one of his paintings means so much more to me than just owning a piece of art.

He’s losing his vision.

Instead of letting that stop him from creating, he’s developed this really unique style of astral and visionary art. He takes what he describes experiencing through astral projection, remote viewing, synesthesia and seeing auras and tries to translate those experiences into color, movement and form on a canvas.

That’s what makes his paintings so fascinating. They aren’t just random shapes and colors to him. Some represent places he says he’s visited while astral projecting. Others represent auras, energy, or things he’s encountered through remote viewing. His art becomes a way of showing the rest of us something that, until he puts a brush to canvas, exists only through his perception.

If you really want to understand his work, read his captions. He tells the stories behind the paintings and what he experienced. Sometimes the story behind a piece is just as interesting as the painting itself.

Knowing what he’s going through with his eyesight makes me respect what he’s doing even more. He’s facing the possibility of seeing less of this world while continuing to create art that shows people more of his.

I’m proud to call him my friend, and I’m grateful to have an original piece of his hanging in my home.

Go follow @artdecca. Check out his work, read his stories and show him some love. More people deserve to see what he’s creating. 🎨❤️

Keep painting, brother. Even while the world is becoming harder for you to see, you’re still finding a way to show the rest of us what you see.
