POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Back behind the camera this week for three days of interior shoots with one of my longtime clients, which had me looking back at this project we photographed together.

One of the perks to working with designers over time is getting to know what matters to them, the details they’ve labored over, and how they want a finished project to feel.

My job is to photograph what makes each home feel unique. From the larger spaces to the smaller details, craftsmanship, color, and all those little moments that give it personality.

A few favorites from this project we photographed last year.

If you’re a designer, architect or builder with a project nearing completion, I’d love to hear what you’re working on!

Serving Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC, but always willing to travel.

We celebrated the premiere of Day of the Dinner: The Art of Entertaining surrounded by an incredible community of designers, partners, friends, and fellow lovers of gathering around the table.

Now it’s your turn! Head over to @homeworthy to stream the special (find the link in my Linktree), and if you enjoy it, I’d love for you to share it and let me know your favorite table!

This special brings together a marvelous group of talented designers who prove that entertaining isn’t about buying more, it’s about using the beautiful things you’ve collected, inherited, and loved to create meaningful moments with the people who matter most.

A special thank you to the designers we featured, including @carolineervinlandscapedesign of @thegeorgetowngardenshop , Pinar Demir of @pnr_decor and Lindsey Martin of @palomahomeinteriors , Daniela Negrette of @poppyandloladesign @mollymchugo16 of MoCo Mahjong, and @elizabeth_spratt_cooper of @artdesignpartners whose beautiful tables inspired us all.

None of this would have been possible without our amazing partners. Thank you to @donnellkearney of Kearney & Crew @compassdmv for your generous sponsorship, @saltandsundry for creating such beautiful event décor, @eleganciadc for hosting us in the perfect setting at La Cosecha, @jodiewmclean , @weareedens , and the entire @unionmarketdc team for supporting our vision, @jlwdc for bringing this extraordinary group of women into my world, and @pelonkey for providing the incredible DJ Catalina, who kept the celebration going all evening.

I hope this special inspires you to invite people over, set the table, and make beautiful new memories of your own.

Love,
Paul xx

#DCRealEstate Washington is one of the most dynamic real estate markets in the country, so it meant a great deal to have one of the city’s top real estate experts, @donnellkearney of Kearney & Crew @compassdmv supporting The Junior League of Washington @jlwdc at The Art of Entertaining event at the National Museum of Women in the Arts and our upcoming @homeworthy special.

Donnell has built a remarkable reputation pairing extraordinary homes with the people meant to live inside them, understanding that the right home is never just about real estate. It’s about lifestyle, family, entertaining, community, and creating a life that feels aligned with who you are.

That philosophy made this collaboration feel especially meaningful because The Art of Entertaining was ultimately about exactly that. Bringing people together beautifully and intentionally.

What I love most about evenings like this is the reminder that some of life’s best moments happen around a table. Conversation, laughter, inspiration, beauty, new ideas, old friendships, and the simple magic of gathering together all have the power to transform a house into a home. That spirit is a huge part of why I love being a part of the Homeworthy family and creating these specials. I’m looking forward to hosting this beautiful program and inspiring many of you this summer on Homeworthy.

Congratulations to my new collector, Desiree, on winning the auction for “White Flag (DC) #1”. She has already placed it in her gorgeous home and shared a photo—deeply appreciated.

If you missed the opportunity, additional works and variations are available at www.ElizabethCVarner.com.

Sharing moments from the Junior League of Washington’s Art of Entertaining at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Grateful for the opportunity, the purpose behind the evening, and the continued support of women’s leadership. Thank you to the sponsors (@homeworthy @paulwhartonstyle @donnellkearney )—and to the designers (@thegeorgetowngardenshop @ballgown.barefoot @thepartybee @artdesignpartners @eighttreestreetfloral ) among others whose tablescapes shaped the atmosphere of the night.

Yesterday was more than a work day. I had the honor of hosting The Art of Entertaining benefiting @jlwdc at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and in that same evening we filmed a special for @homeworthy as part of my Day of the Dinner series, airing in June 2026.

This was my first televised special back, in my opinion, on the other side of grief. Not the other side of loss, because that stays with you and I’ve been working, but on the other side of doing the ongoing work that is required to come back to yourself.

Because the truth is, when something profound happens and you lose someone you love, you don’t go back to who you were before. You change. Whether you want to or not. And at some point, you have to meet that new version of yourself and decide how you’re going to move forward.

Yesterday, I showed up fully present, fully grounded, and fully real an I’m proud of myself. There was no cheeky glass of champagne before or late night dance party after. No fuss getting me ready an into the car, heck, I even drove myself to the show which is something I never do because I would’ve been having fun with a gimlet with everyone else! I saw the man in the mirror clearly and I really appreciated how far I’d come to be standing so firmly on the ground last night.

And I want to say this to anyone who may be struggling right now. I understand. I am in the business of being happy, and sometimes that is just not the truth. But what a wonderful feeling it is when you step back into the light and your smile is real again, your laughter is real again, and your connections are honest and you do not have to pretend.

You will smile again. You will laugh again. Life is beautiful, even when it does not feel that way. There is still beauty here, waiting for you.

Thank you to my team, to everyone who poured into this moment, and to my guardian angel, my beloved niece Anasia, for guiding me back to myself.

A study in blue & white by @artdesignpartners.

Santa Barbara Ikat brings quiet movement and layered dimension to this dining room. Hand screen-printed and designed by @markdsikes_interiors each panel reveals subtle striations that make the pattern feel alive.

@artdesignpartners shows how to layer Schumacher patterns with ease — Tulum Casement in Green brings bold stripes and playful fringe to the pillows, while Mori in Porcelain drapes the windows in graceful botanicals.
