💡Bonjour friends. A painting commenced last fall, and photographed this past April by Brad—it evolved while I was living and working in between two far flung locations, and absorbing the light and pollution of both. Now retitled, for a rhyming sound, it feels right.💡

In a nutshell... the work explores identity through fact, fiction, and the lens of AI.

Personality Test: An Autofiction is a new exhibition by interdisciplinary artist Sue Beyer, that investigates the shifting boundaries of identity and selfhood. Using an intermedial approach that draws data from AI, the exhibition poses a deceptively simple question: Who am I? When it comes to personality tests, I often wonder: Who wrote the questions? Who determines the right answers? Who benefits from the results? You are scored, ranked, and categorized — an introvert, an extrovert, a Type A, a Type B, an optimized consumer. What happens when you fail the test? What happens when you refuse to be tested?

Shout out to @artdoc.bradfarwell 📸 Brad has a new account dedicated to his stellar art documentation services. I had the pleasure of working with him on studio headshots and his miraculous documentation of my insane installation of inlaid paper paintings at @stannsbrooklyn from 2019. I’m honored to be amongst the incredible lineup of other artists and galleries he’s documented. Whether you are an artist, gallery, or collector, this is the photographer for you! Give him a follow and check out his website. He’s also a fabulous artist in his own right @bradfarwell.
