I have grown to absolutely love commissions. I am particularly proud of how this work turned out, and grateful to my lovely client for bringing it into being.

As always, thank you to @tealcanvas for shepherding me through the commission process, and growing my artistic practice.

I love being an artist and love everyone who is on the journey with me xoxoxo

Sharing some more behind-the-scenes, this time featuring my Fall/Winter @highlinenyc inspired textile artwork!

This piece features the beautiful decay of the fall season with dried seed heads, late blooming botanicals such as asters and rudbeckia, and vintage NYC ephemera in the handmade paper pathing.

The two artworks together show how the same place can appear entirely different with the change of seasons ✨🌱

Sharing a little process of making my Spring/Summer @highlinenyc inspired artwork 🌱

Every element is a separate project in itself - from taking about 3 days just to create the echinacea flowers, multiple weekends creating the handmade paper pathing, every detail is thought out and so uniquely made by hand!

Catch some moments of my awesome assistant @merve.caydere 🙌 She had a hand in every part of this project and I couldn’t have done it without her help!

And big thank you to my husband @alejosupermarket who airbrushed all of the botanicals, created the plastic railroad, and helped me make paper every weekend!

The Heartbeat of the High Line, 2026.

The High Line exists in a constant state of change, transformed by the passage of time. These works highlight how a familiar landscape can feel entirely different through the changing seasons. One artwork focuses on dormancy and decay, while the other celebrates regrowth and abundance. The pathway acts as a central connecting thread, where embedded paper ephemera reflects the movement of people that pass through the gardens and the accumulation of memories and experiences gathered along the way. Like an inhale and exhale, each stitch, wrap, and hand-placed petal echo the steady growth of the landscape and the continual movement of the people that walk through the High Line each day.

When I was commissioned by a private client to create these artworks, I never knew how much this project would truly push and change me as an artist.

I don’t even know where to start with telling you all about it! I dove into this concept over two years ago when I traveled to research @highlinenyc and created a proposal for the project. Just this year the client decided to move forward with the project and I had 9 weeks to complete the works. It was a huge feat to complete, but all of the research and sampling that I had completed prepared me to jump right into bringing the vision to life. So many new techniques were used in this project and working at such a large scale taught me so much.

I can’t wait to share more of the behind the scenes and processes that make this project so special.

Here’s a photo dump from install day!

Maternity. Newborn. All of it — designed together and installed on one wall.

This is what a full portrait experience looks like. Not just photos delivered on a USB drive, but a thoughtfully designed collection that tells your family’s whole story.

Every frame chosen intentionally. Every image placed with purpose.

Your entry is your first impression, so like the clothing you wear, or a first date, you want it to truly represent you 🌸 For us that means bold pattern and color, grounded with timeless designs. While you don't have to own a Kenny Sharf (slide 3), make it memorable, but most importantly make you. The frame was chosen to match 100-year-old beams in their living room. That’s not an accident — that’s the process.

Their family grew. Two kids became three. So we updated the wall framed portrait in the most prominent spot in their home — and gave the original a new home in the dining room.

This is what it looks like when portraits are designed to grow with your family.

I missed National Tulip Day, so I’m resharing the Scarsdale sisters’ room, and a few other times the happy harbingers of spring— painted, fresh or faux— have made appearances in my interiors.

Day and night 🌚🌝 Swipe to see our client's wonderful vacation home primary suite before and after. One of the greatest joys is learning what our clients love, what they gravitate to, what they need after a long day, then translating that into design ideas - pulling from at times thousands of design vendors while also designing custom pieces as no two people are alike - so no designs should be either... 🌸🌿 Swipe and let us know what you think in comments 😌#sarahelizabethdesign #primarybathroomdesign #primarybathrenovation #montclairdesigner photo @carlyjaraphotography

Simply couldn't wait another minute to show you a project that is me - that is my client - that is a collaboration of my most favorite people & vendors 🌸🌿 Our wonderful client decided instead of a trip for her 10th wedding anniversary, to hire a designer for her family's NYC apartment 🩷 Fast-forward 1.5 yrs, almost every room is done, brimming with bright colors for this young family - yet this room is special - truly reflecting my clients' bold, whimsical taste - that just happens to align with ours exactly 😌 @carlyjaraphotography #sarahelizabethdesign #floralceiling #flowerwallpaper #brightinteriors
