Wrote this film 4 years ago. It was rejected by many film labs and grants, until @daylaborernetwork, particularly Pablo Alvarado and @novemfive , decided they wanted to fund and make it last year. So this film was made with day laborers, organizers, and a wonderful femme led crew @fieldtrip_ .It was made from a deep desire to create our own stories and truth about one of the most iconic aspect of the City of Angels, migrant workers’ and their Trokas Duras, vessels of dreams and joy.

This year it won the Short Film Jury Award for Best US Fiction at the Sundance Film Festival 2025.🛻✨🦋

Go read more about it @wepresent! As Pablo Alvarado told me, “Deciphering the truth is becoming more difficult, but I know that the truth is closer to the people that drive those trucks, to the people who make a living with their hands and lift up junk off people’s yards.”

SOUND ON! 🔊 never got around to posting this but it seemed like the perfect opportunity to announce that NYMPHOSE has been selected as a semifinalist in the Venice Short film festival! 🩵

so happy its life has been extended just a little bit longer. Arthur and I spent over a year working on the symbiosis between the film’s score which was composed as the script was being written to create a filmic and auditory experience that would transfer you to a world of dreams … 🌊

am currently looking for ways to share this project online with you all SOON!
in the meantime @arthurbrouns and i have been busy at work on a new film project … more about that later 😏

After 𝘚𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘮, it's the second time Ivo Van Hove invites Wim Vandekeybus to be a guest-director at @internationaaltheateramsterdam. This time, on April 2nd, 𝘽𝙇𝙊𝙊𝘿 𝙒𝙀𝘿𝘿𝙄𝙉𝙂 will premiere. 𝘽𝙇𝙊𝙊𝘿 𝙒𝙀𝘿𝘿𝙄𝙉𝙂 is teeming with themes that have cropped up in Wims own creations for decades: death, risk and freedom. It is an archaic and deeply human drama about family hatred. The security of a bourgeois existence loses out to passionate love, which drives itself to death. Lorca mixes high theatricality with naivety, primitivism and cruelty. He digs into the subconscious of his characters. It is precisely that subconscious that will be the driving force.

The scenography is developed by famous architect duo @gijsvanvaerenbergh - who also created the scenography for 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘯 -, the music by @arthurbrouns , the costumes by Isabel Lhoas and the film on scene was directed and created by @fvdkbs and production company @lesmecs_.

Premiere on 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺! More information via the website of 𝗜𝗧𝗔.
