Two shadows, united in frequencies. We are ‘the OWLiNG’. KaL MichaeL Guitars/Vocals As long as I have been awake and aware music has been the glue and life force of my existence. Growing up and living as a teen on Miami Beach in the ‘80s and ‘90s I was drawn to anything provocative, weird, and sonically interesting. By 14 I was a regular on the stage playing in bands and promoting shows; helping create the local music scene I craved in South Florida. Right out of high school I was touring as a hired gun, opening for bands like Faith No More, Fishbone, and Incubus. The ‘90s brought years of playing in my own project too, including C.H.A.L.K. I developed an appreciation to play everything from death metal and alternative rock to deep experimental music. Even though there were scattered reunion shows over the years, life eventually took me in other creative directions. Still, I never stopped playing or writing. In late 2022, an idea brought me back. Something built around heavy riffs, slow grooves, cinematic arrangements, and the odd poetry I’d been composing along the way. That idea became ‘the OWLiNG’. After more than three decades of playing music, I’m still interested in the same things that drew me in as a kid: creating something unusual that you never knew you wanted until you heard it, and getting lost in the performance and recording process. 🎶 Harvest 📸 Joseph Cultice @joeycultice FOLLOW AND LISTEN EVERYWHERE Apple Music • Spotify • Bandcamp • YouTube theowling.com Two shadows, united in frequencies. We are ‘the OWLiNG’. Arthor Quanstrom Drums Life as a drummer came a little late for me. Music was always there - piano lessons started at age 5, and there were Doobie Brothers and ELO records in the house - but even when I first started playing percussion, I was focused on melodic instruments. Somewhere, that changed. Joining a band and playing drum set were just more accessible, and I jumped into as many bands as I could. Sometimes too many, but experience playing in punk, classic rock covers, and rock bands started to shape my playing. 20 years later, that point of view is still being refined as part of the OWLiNG. You don’t bow You will learn The title track is the center of the record. The phrase can sound confrontational, but underneath it is an idea about resistance, consequence and eventually being forced to confront the things we refuse to accept. It described the attitude of the entire record. It’s a statement, not a suggestion. The juxtaposition of a reluctant pirate and soul surrender. 🎥 Memo Villaseñor @memster82 📍 NERVEFEST 2026 Pomona, CA LISTEN TO INTRAVENOUS FLOW EVERYWHERE Apple Music • Spotify • Bandcamp • YouTube theowling.com
