🎉 Exciting news! 🎉

I am proud to announce the completion of Jersey City's latest mural, Layers of Interconnectivity

In the courtyard of Rising Tide Capital's official headquarters, this beautiful work of art is a testimony to the 20 years RTC has committed to empowering community & connections and the resiliency of the entrepreneurial spirit.

It is a celebration of the local & international talent that is exchanged in Jersey City and inspires people from all over the world to come to this incredible city.

It was an absolute honor to manage this project and to contribute to a part of the mural, especially for the company's 20th anniversary and in my hometown.

Thank you to the people who came together to make this happen, and a big THANK YOU to all the artists I had the honor of painting alongside. I've been working in mural production for almost 10 years, and if it weren't for growing up in JC, seeing some of these artists' works all over town, and hearing their stories, Idk if I would express myself or push myself to be the best artist I can be if it weren't for these guys so thank you 🙏🏽

Check the other artists out and look out for more news! 🎉

Doyenne x Alexis Sablone Exhibition Launch was such a down to earth event, with a room full of beautiful skater women and pieces that inspired me. It was a great night and I can’t wait to see what @artisticafro captured from last night soon📸

Yaz is a black visual & performing artist / illustrator from NY/NJ.
When interviewed, this is what Yaz said, "Even though some people may find this challenging, I love doing self portraits. I use myself as my way of challenging racial issues. I use my self portrait drawings and paintings as a reflection to other people of color by showing how diverse we can be in our characteristic traits. There is more to the black identity than the media portrays. Growing up, I felt singled out and excluded by my black peers because I was more into anime and Japanese culture than my own. In high school, I felt like I had to choose sides between the culture I grew up around and my other cultural and subcultural interests. Now, I am steering my art towards marrying the two concepts, where a person can be into many cultures. Living in Italy for the past four months has also shown me how deeply important it is to have representation of different ethnicities and different types of people within those ethnicities in media, billboards, etc. It is really strange to walk around your city and not see any people in magazines or signs that look like you or help you see yourself as a beautiful being."
