So this isn’t what I asked for, but I’m not even mad! What a cool little R Pi case, eh? -Kenko Voiding warranty’s since 1987. #artisticdifferencesav #vj #installations #creativetechnologist #av

“New monitor, who’s this?” Today’s messing involved making a little stepper motor ‘windmill’ that could temporarily block the light dependant resistor that makes this CCTV camera decide whether it’s day or night, and if it should be blasting infrared out or not. Visuals wise, it’s going to slap the feed with a hard invert every time the sensor’s covered. Then I’ve repurposed old Processing scripts, hosted them then fed them out through Resolume, into a Sony DSC-G 1024G, then a Chroma Corrupter, and mixing the digital and analog feeds with a Karl Klomp mixer. Cheers to Oleg for my first swivel monitor! Tune: MangoShei [weebcore303.exe] -Kenko Voiding warranty’s since 1987. #artisticdifferencesav #vj #installations #creativetechnologist #av

This is getting pretty realistic ehh? So I’ve gone to town on setting this up to look like a quasi time lapse of a day of conference AV work. It begins with a ‘walk in’ look, followed by dimming everything and going a hint of blue as a video track plays, then into a brighter look for the meal (yes, the candles are even DMX’d in this). Then I strip the furniture out and have it go a bit mad as it does when the DJ shows up! But yeah, this is full Resolume out to the LED wall and pair of plasma TV’s, then MagicQ out to the lighting rig. I’ve just thrown a one second photo at the beginning to have to compare to the previs! -Kenko Voiding warranty’s since 1987. #artisticdifferencesav #vj #installations #creativetechnologist #av

DMX over Artnet, video over NDI, played through a fully exported Unreal engine level that’s an .exe. You boot it up, and it’s listening to true signals from the same programs used in production. Good craic. I’ve only located most of the lights then this is showing throwing a Resolume look in and then a mover FX on the Robe Spiiders from MagicQ by Chamsys. -Kenko Voiding warranty’s since 1987. #artisticdifferencesav #vj #installations #creativetechnologist #av

Spent some time today making a previs level of a ballroom I’m in, with a Claude > Blender > Unreal Engine > Resolume pipeline. It can take DMX & NDI, 1:1 with the patch of the room and all that good stuff! -Kenko Voiding warranty’s since 1987. #artisticdifferencesav #vj #installations #creativetechnologist #av

Fully hacked the CCTV server into a wild video glitcher! One joystick can spam the better settings of the CCTV multiviews, then another is a second joystick mapped to pulse speeds of glitches, based on how much you’re giving it in a given direction, for different effects. This is looping straight from the inner workings of the CCTV server, then ‘breaking them out’ to allow it to be more playable. There’s a mess of old cameras on fractal amounts of feedback loops, then spamming the joysticks as a new way to play live glitches. I’m capturing it at the end and looping it back again via Resolume and one digital output in the mix. “More fuel, more fyah!” A bit more of the process of the Zippo triggering feedback glitches for the craic. Usual shenanigans with the rig, Resolume into a Sony DSC-G 1024G feeding the MisMatcher 2, custom arduino controls for it, today with a digital temperature sensor triggered by the Zippo. 45°C will set it off, 35°C resets it. The rest of the rig is a conference camera into a Chroma Corrupter, back into a capture card and feedback twice with Resolume and its preview monitor. You can also cop the rubber stamp to drown out the CCTV server’s piezo speaker. {^_^} -Kenko Voiding warranty’s since 1987. #artisticdifferencesav #Vj #installations #creativetechnologist #av

CCTV Server as a switcher, two cameras and an analog mixer, the Chroma Corrupter. Tune: Josef [Shook Ones Pt.2 Grime Edit] -Kenko #artisticdifferencesav #vj #installations #creativetechnologist #av

So today’s post work, ‘art therapy’, involved setting up an old conference camera, a colour / night vision CCTV camera, then a Chroma Corrupter by Melted Electronics, all through an old CCTV camera server and into an old VGA monitor. First time having a mess busking with it, but there’s scope there to get some sick looks out of it. This starts to get good about half way in, and there are a few moments that were really enjoyable to play during it. H’yup! Tune: Josef [Drifting ft. Having a little play with adding the Sony DSC-G 1024G into the analog chain to see what it can do! Throwing up some glitched photo’s from the recent Canon PureShot firmware conversion by @rewired_optics that I took lately. Then adding some feedback loops with the Sony VX1000E, switched by the Sony DSC-G, all fed into a MisMatcher Delux II, then a Nortstar CRT and a 4K Panasonic projector. Then there are the Arduino and Púca controller additions allowing the APC40 to make the analog buskable via OSC. I might need a better cable for the camera though? Playing around with a circuit bent Canon PowerShot A640 on the cycle home from work. Messing about with randomising ‘soft bends’ as @rewired_optics calls them! It’s kinda pot luck until you find a patch that works, you save it, then test it out. Good craic out of a camera that’d just lived in a drawer for fifteen years anyway! Experimental video stuff. Fully OSC driven glitch... through a custom rig I've built with Arduino & Púca DSP boards, controlling a MisMatcher Delux II. {Everytime the LED on the table blinks, that's a received OSC message.} This is all timecoded to a tune by my Galway mate @mangoshiet ! This is going to allow for really detailed compositions, super locked in. Also using the alpha test of @arcanewizards . This is then routed through a Black Magic Television Studio, then out to a 4,000 lumen Panasonic.
