🧠 Brain Matter 🧠

It's not every day you get to run about wearing a giant brain costume and throwing golden confetti everywhere...but I wish it was 🎉🎊

Had an utterly silly and hilarious time bringing to life Brain Matter by Ruby Hirsch alongside the incredible Danielle Jam, Sean Hay and Mamoru Iriguchi.

The Audio Story Company, originally commissioned by Tron Theatre, in association with The Gaiety Theatre are looking for a performer for their audio-immersive family experience, Happiness Collectors.

The Happiness Collectors need YOU! The world’s supplies of happiness are running low, and they need your help to top them up. Pop on your headphones and join the Happiness Collectors on a journey of sounds and silliness to learn the best ways to collect happiness and most important of all, how to pass it on!

The Role
SAM is a new Happiness Collector Instructor. They may not always be on the ball when it comes to their job but are always enthusiastic, fun, silly and big hearted. SAM does not speak during the performance, so the performer must be:
Strong physical performer
Have excellent movement skills
Very expressive
Experience of, or comfortable with, performing for young audiences
Any Gender and Age will be considered.

Rehearsals: 3rd October 2022 - 7th October 2022, Tron Theatre, Glasgow.
Performance Run: 8th October 2022 - 23rd October 2022, across Scotland. With at least one day off per week.

Fee: £1797.00 (3 Weeks at £550p/w, plus £49p/w Holiday Pay); offered on a self-employed basis. Subsistence of £130 for team members based more than 25 miles outside of Glasgow for rehearsals and £130 per week meal allowance on tour.
Travel and Accommodation will be provided whilst on Tour.

We are also touring in Easter and Summer 2023; performers do not have to be available for all periods to be considered, but we would be grateful if you could also indicate availability for the following dates:
3rd – 16th April ‘23
3rd – 16th July ‘23

Auditions
Friday 2nd September 2022 at Tron Theatre. An extract and audio clip will be sent to auditionees with information of what to expect on the day.

As part of our commitment to performers without agents, we will be auditioning a selection of non-represented performers as part of our audition process.

Notes of interest, along with confirmation of availability for the dates above should be sent to submissions@audiostory.co.uk by Friday 5th August at 6pm.

Please read the full brief (link in bio) before submitting.

@noropes_theatre trip to Imaginate was amazing. We wouldn't have been able to attend if @pushpluseu and @thearkdublin hadn't an access budget. This led to @noropes_theatre being being part of @artistsimaginate delegates panel discussion where barriers that disabled artists face were being discussed. Mairéad spoke about the importance of having an access line within a production/project budget and how access budgets should also cater for other artists with additional needs ie parenting artists

A week of PUSH+ joy ❤️

In Jan this year, I took part in a residency with artists from Denmark, Norway, Scotland, Ireland & Belgium. Because of COVID, we we couldn’t be in a room together but this week - across Denmark & Scotland, we finally got to meet! Big love to all of the PUSH+ artists/partners and all other fun festival friends X
