Last month, I had the tremendous pleasure of assisting Millian Giang Pham with her week long "Representation of Self in Soft Collage" workshop at Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts. I was blown away by these fine folks' creative approaches to the medium and I learned quite a bit in the process.

A somewhat late @arrowmont_school post-

I had such a fantastic time in Brett @beasleyceramics ceramics course! Everyone in the studio was so kind and supportive and I learned not only about ceramics but also about teaching, too! Going to Arrowmont is a great time no matter what, but this time was made extra special by the crew of people I met.

Thank you to Brett and to Kimberly @magpieartsllc as well for the awesome class and thank you to everyone else for sharing the experience with me! To many more meetings in the future :)

🎨 Make plans to see the current exhibit: "Katrina Leggett Gallery: Dreaming of A Better World" in the Shainberg Gallery at the MJCC, March 4–28. ✨

🎨 Artist Reception in the Gallery, Sunday, March 23 • 2:00-3:30pm ✨

🎨Katrina Leggett works as a middle-level educator and artist. Her paintings explore the interplay between the fleeting nature of time and the enduring power of memory. She seeks to capture the essence of a moment, frozen in time yet imbued with the weight of past experiences and the promise of future possibilities. Her current collection searches for healing, connecting to who we could have been, letting go of loss, and allowing yourself to dream again.

⭐️ Friday night marked a historic occasion for us here at the Memphis Art Salon ~ In partnership with @paint_memphis and our neighbors @bsidememphis, we unveiled our most ambitious and extensive exhibition to date. Featuring over 100 installations from more than 25 talented artists, we breathed new life into the spirit of our creative community.

We kicked off the evening with captivating talks from @paint_memphis muralists @samaraashstudio and @carlosval28, both of which are featured in our exhibit here at the salon. Local bands @thestupidreasons, @macrophonics, and @runisalem provided the soundtrack for the evening, while live painters Angela Brunson and @caleb.hydrick added to the vibrant atmosphere.

This wasn't just an exhibition; it was a celebration of how art has the power to unite our communities, and to heal our spirits. Though it is the fifth installment of our Salon Series, it is actually the first hosted inside the walls of Minglewood in our very own gallery space since our opening on March 29th earlier this year.

~ Missed the grand opening? Don't fret—Art Salon 5 is here until November 2nd. With extended viewing hours over the next couple of weeks, you've got ample time to immerse yourself in these creative wonders. And don't forget our free, spooky Halloween pop-up market this Sunday! 🎃👻

Stay tuned for an online catalog of works on display, we're just putting on the finishing touches to bring you a virtual tour of this artistic extravaganza. All work is for sale unless otherwise noted.

**Extended Hours Days/Times:
Wednesday, 10/16 12:00-8:00 PM
Thursday, 10/17 12:00-8:00 PM
Saturday, 10/19 3:00-7:00 PM
