Fine Persian cuisine is of high quality at Rumi’s Kitchen, Century City (Los Angeles). The ingredients are fresh & service is European style. Servers are highly attentive to all your needs. I was told they were trained for months. How can you tell? You’re served clean utensils with every course.

Atmosphere is bright and airy. Everyone makes you feel st home. Both interior and exterior decor are beautiful. Don’t forget to check out the finally carved bathroom door and sink created in metal with repousse (relief designs)- wow! Thank you, Melina, Ashley, Lucas and everyone @rumiskitchenofficial!

Los Angeles, come experience a new chapter at @‌lacma with us on Saturday, October 17.

We’re heading inside the new David Geffen Galleries for a private tour with ArtMuse LA @‌artmusela, exploring the new space with a special focus on women artists throughout the collection.

Together, we’ll go beyond the labels to discover the ideas, creative risks, and fascinating details behind the work—from celebrated names to artists you may be discovering for the first time.

Before the tour, we’ll gather for an optional lunch at Fanny’s at the Academy Museum, @‌academymuseum then walk over to LACMA together for an afternoon of art, conversation, and discovery.

Come curious—you may leave with a few new favorite artists.

Getty Center’s West Pavilion Gallery W102 has undergone some nice changes. Paintings from other galleries are on display here.

Sir Joshua Reynolds’ Portrait of Mai (the young man in light yellow flowing robes and a turban) is also on view in Gallery W102.

As a museum tour guide, I like the space (the table and sculpture at center of gallery were removed). It works!#gettycenter#gettycentermuseum#museumvibes#artmusela#museumstrolling

This is Banksy’s Don’t Forget Your Scarf, Dear (also known as Punk Mom), 2008, stencil on canvas..

Notice the character is holding a black flag featuring a stylized letter “A” enclosed within the letter “O”.

In political iconography, the symbol stands for “Anarchy is the mother of Order”. The “A” represents anarchy and the “O” for order.

The young punk’s radical anti-establishment attitude contrasts (in a funny way) with the domestic mother making sure he stays warm before heading out.

Don’t Forget Your Scarf, Dear is currently on view at @lucasmuseum (Lucas Museum of Narrative Art), Los Angeles#banksy#protestart#politicalart#lucasmuseumofnarrativeart

This powerful artwork is Portrait of Mai (“Omai”),1776 by Sir Joshua Reynolds (English,1723-1792), oil on canvas, currently on view at @gettymuseum (The Getty Center).

Mai was a Polynesian noble- his hand tattoos are telltale signs of his high status (second image here).

Artist Reynolds places Mai in a tropical landscape setting. This detail evokes his homeland - Tahiti.

Mal arrived in England via the Royal Navy in July 1774. He was the first Polynesian to visit England. Mai went to England with a purpose.

To find out more, embark on a Getty Center highlights tour with me, Nancy Real, and we’ll discover the grand finale of Mai’s journey/life.
