Last weekend I did a scary thing and gave a pole competition a go 😱

I went into this with no expectations. I had three weeks off of training to get married and honeymoon (poor me I know) and had major imposter syndrome regarding the category I had entered. To my surprise I loved it performing in front of people again brought back something I haven’t felt in years. On top of it all I came 3rd in my category. 🥰

I could not have done this without my amazing coach @emily.may_xo thank you for all you do for me pushing me to be better and get stronger every session. Thank you to my amazing husband @reecedruery_ for truly being the most supportive person when it comes to this sport and driving to the Sunshine Coast with me hehe.

Thank you @artofbrasscomp for putting on such a wonderful competition with such beautiful people. What a space you created

What an incredible competition! It was such a joy to put together this routine and get to perform the type of flow I really love.

Snippets from Art of Brass 2026 ✨
This routine means so much more to me than just another performance 🖤
It’s the first routine I’ve ever been able to include an invert... let alone three.
For a long time, I simply didn’t have the strength or stamina to execute them the way I wanted. I’ve spent countless hours building that strength and stamina, and seeing it all come together on stage is something I’m incredibly proud of.
I also really feel like I’m starting to find my style as a performer. This style actually felt a little uncomfortable at first but the more I leaned into it, the more it started to feel like me. Looking back now, I think that’s why this has become my favourite performance I’ve done to date.
More than anything, this routine has built my confidence. It showcases the strength I’ve worked so hard for, and every invert is a reminder that consistency really does pay off ✨
Thank you so much to my pole mum @_misstopaz and @uplifttraining.ult For supporting me and making me believe in my body’s capability 😘

Last night I ran my first pole competition.

My whole village showed up for me so I could live one of my little dreams, but above all this moment stood out to me (@badass_pole_mama ) for the capture 🩷

My little family, my sweet best friend and baby showing up for me and showing myself that I can have both and be both without lessening the value and love I have for all parts of my life. Women really can do anything 💜

Till next year AoB, bigger and better 🩷💖💞
