POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Here are 13 horrifying book covers of books I have actually read. Some of them, like The God in the Hills, come with pretty intense content warnings so see me if you need that. 👀 Obviously I have a type

.
The Vessel- I don’t like the eyes at all
Things Have Gotten Worse…- this was the start of the smeared head/face and it’s very unsettling
Nothing But Blackened Teeth-I don’t like the missing eyes/too much mouth combo
Marla- again with the staring eyes! 👀
Day of the Door- Trevor Henderson’s art SCARES ME
We Are Here to Hurt Each Other-don’t like a head made of teeth and this story is scary too
Human Monsters-her eyes are like melting in their sockets! Help!
Diavola- the smeared head thing again!
Abnormal Statistics-hate the scratched out eyes and font-creepy!
The Rotting Within- AWFUL!! So intense
The God in the Hills-ugh this story is rough and I hate that thing’s arms!
If You Died—I hate a white-out eye I think
ALL OF JUNJI ITO’s art 🙌🏼🙌🏼 I love it. Ugh those holes!

———————————— 🇬🇧

We live in an age of grotesque disengagement and monetized obtuseness. Those who know me know that I had already put my pen back in the inkwell during the days of Sunset Prince, and yet here I am again, still stirring things up.

Over at @minimal.themagazine, I keep championing emerging talents who truly deserve attention—the latest being @filipmartini, and soon @maitelsd. But that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped speaking my mind about this world, about people, about the literary scene, and about everything that both irritates and fascinates me.

The next project is a reset of what I want my writing to represent.

After a three-year hiatus, I’ll be publishing my first book under my real name with @ossorossoedizioni.

A creative really can’t help himself, apparently.
